Saving Money on Selling Items Online

Money Saving

Royal Mail has not increased the price, but it worries me when it happens as I use them to ship all my parcels. So, the alternative is www.parcel2go.com/ (can't say I'd recommend Hermes/Evri after all they've done).

Next tip is, if you order online, keep the boxes and envelopes so you can reuse them later. Maybe you'll even find perfectly good boxes outside.

Last tip, if you sell a lot online then it's worth signing up for PayPal Business MasterCard as they give 0.50% cashback on all purchases and if you buy an item and have to unfortunately send it back, you can get your shipping fee refunded by Telus (up to £15).

Bonus tip, if you have items to sell on eBay wait for their 70%/80% fee discount and then list during that time or else you'll have a big piece of the "pie" handed to eBay.

It's kind of hard to save money these days, but there are ways to help.

I always reuse envelopes/boxes/packing - I don't actually remember the last time I bought any such items.

I am finding that by the time I pay for posting, and eBay fees, I need to be selling stuff for a tenner to make any sort of money at all.

Anything less and I tend to just give it to the local charity shop.

Thank you for that info.We have sold on ebay for years but recently it's getting harder as you have to mark the item up higher so you don't lose out as the fees are horrendous. But I do/did always re-use packaging.

Hey do you know if you can sign up for the business master card without actually being a business?

SaveMeSunday yeah, just give yourself a title and you'll be given one.

I have one since 2019, I think. Very useful for a variety of reasons.

In the U.S. they get 1% cashback while we only get 0.50%. That kinda sucks.

I just thought that I'd comment on this topic as the 70% sellers fee is active today until the 05-06-22.
