School Bubble Confusion

Ask a Question

I have 2 sons in school and 1 bubble has had a positive covid test so after spending weekend closely together I find out that 1 has to stay home and I have to take his brother to school and my daughter will have to go college. I understand 1 within the bubble staying home but shouldn't we all have to

Maybe I'm missing something can anyone explain it please

At my niece & nephews school if one of their classmates tests positive they both have to stay off. They are both within the same school tho I just assumed that was the case throughout.

Yeah I find this all confusing also. My friends daughter got sent home with s cough. Tested negative. All her other kids got sent home also she had to get whole family tested even though no others had symptoms. She has 7 kids herself and hubby.(no wonder running out of tests.) She was told all to be tested. All negative. What was confusing. One other child who sat next to one of her kids in classwas told to stay home ( neither had symptoms), but that other child's brother was still to go. I don't think anyone knows what they are doing?

This whole testing people whether it comes positive or negative seems very unreliable. It could say you're positive, but actually not have it yourself.

I wouldn't do the test even if it was free.

PhilipMarc When it comes to Covid, it seems that you are in a dream world and very selfish when it comes to other people and your ability to pass it on taking into consideration your past comments on LD.

It looks like your a denier and refuse to believe that we're in a pandemic and that it's all a conspiracy to stop you from going to the pub.

You should be ashamed of yourself to be honest.

It was on the news today that a lady wasn't able to go to her covid test but they sent her the results anyway and it said she was positive. True story. Let that inspire your confidence in the system.

It doesn't help that it's different in all areas. From Scotland where I live to Wales, to England, to Northern Ireland. I find it all to stressful. Aaargh. It gives you a headache.

The schools have silly rules. My daughter got sick..

Flu symptoms and they told my husband if her temperature is under 38 degrees she does not need to be tested.

Like they fear if a kid test positive ,than they need to keep all the kids at home, but it should be like that, because if my daughter`s test comes back positive, than she got it from there, so someone else has it. All the kids should isolate after.

And we had not been elsewhere, so that is the only place she could get it....quiet easy to track it.

Silly too nice a word.

If people seriously suspect covid they need to get tested to prevent more spreading

Imnotcheap yes, but there are like 12 different symptoms. I think when u get one should get tested.

We got my daughter tested yesterday and waiting for the result now.

Your scenario is 100% our situation and to say its is confusing is like saying is the pope a catholic.

Yesterday afternoon my son who is @ college gets notified via the covid19 app that he's been in close proximety of someone who has now tested positive for covid19 .We then called my wifes work who confirmed that she would then have to stay away from work for 14 days if any symptoms present themselves.I then went to collect my 2 sons from there school and before they came out I went into the school reception and said my wife and son have been instructed not to go to college and work then my other 2 sons will not be in school as well from today .

The reception then said if the person isnt showing symptoms that my 2 sons can go to school which I found perplexing as we was given a stern do not go to college or work .So I returned home with my 2 sons and called 119 . I spoke to a lady who said my son might be a-symptomatic and while he's not showing any symptoms he can easily pass it on . She said if the entire household shows no symptoms for 10 days then we can end the isolation but if we do show symptoms then we have to isolate for 14 days . My 1st suggestion would be call 119 and get a definitive answer and you will then know whats best to do for you and your family .

Yes, but u can get tested and it shows if u have covid. If u have none...they can go back to school, but everyone should get tested who were near by the person.

AgnesFaludi The lady on 119 said he could only have a test if he was showing symptoms. Dont got me wrong it would solve our problem but I am of the belief that if we dont have symptoms then the tests should go to people who need it and are showing signs of the illness but you are right Agnes.

stuartsmith544 That is really weird because a lots of people have no symptoms and if we do not test them track and trace will never work.
