Shaping Your Eyebrows - Thinner or Thicker?

Ask a Question

It used to be the trend to have finer, defined eyebrows, but nowadays it seems like the thicker the better!

How do you style yours? And what do you use?

I am growing mine out just now. I neglected them after my son was born and now they need a professional to deal with them. I'm trying to get them to fill out so they are a bit thicker. Getting them done in April for my sons dedication so they have 3 more months to grow. I just pluck the stray ones right down at the bottom.

When I used to look after them, I plucked them. Then if I was going out somewhere I would use an eyebrow pencil on them.

I've always had finer blonde eyebrows (no plucking required!) and have a serious dose of brow envy so mine are tinted. In between tints I use a brow mascara-type product. I'm not a fan of the brows that look like a cut-out piece of black sugar paper but I love the thicker look. What about you?

I never really did anything with my eyebrows, but as I’m getting older, they’re thinning and I feel the urge to get them sorted. I know people who have had eyebrow tattoos to sort them out, although I’m not sure I’d do the same - sounds like an easy solution though

I have quite thick & coarse eyebrows. I pluck underneath them to get some shape & use a pencil to fill in gaps. I sometimes use soap & setting spray to hold them in place if I'm doing a full on make up look.

It's nice to have them defined but looking natural. I use make up on mine but just to make them darker. I like then not too thin or too thick. I never liked the sperm shaped brow that was the fashion in the 00's but also don't like the whole drawn on with permanent marker look.

Mine are natural shape but I do pluck the odd stray in the middle. I've been told by a beauty therapist that my brows are a naturally a nice shape and not to mess with them

def prefer thicker on most people think it really adds character and frames the eyes which I think looks great not so keen on really fake sharpie brow look though

I quite like thick brows too, even though I’m sure it was less fashionable to have it so about a decade ago (which explains the people I know who have plucked theirs to death). The more natural, the better

I leave them as nature intended and just make sure they don't meet in the middle. Mine are naturally bigger and fit the current fashion. This wasn't always the case and I used to have women going on about me about why didn't I pluck them thinner. Now its the fashion to have thicker eyebrows. Mine are also jet black naturally as well.

Whoever invented the pencil thin eyebrow phase was crazy 🤣 i overplucked mine for years because that was the trend and now they look terrible. The hair grows back all around my eyebrow but not an actual eyebrow 🙈 i pay £150 every 6 months to have them done semi permanent 🤣

Lol I know what you mean. There was one time I was chief bridesmaid and the make up lady started trimming off the edges of my brows, without asking me first, so she did a good job shaping, but after 2 weeks my eyebrows were growing like overgrown shrubs so it was a nightmare to maintain! Never again 😂

I have to say, I really prefer natural eyebrows. Too many girls are going around with slugs above their eyes. Even if they are shaped, it looks really naff and I don't think they look pretty at all.
