Sherlock and Cumberbatch

Ask a Question

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sherlock TV series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman but suspect they have become too famous to continue with the series.

Does anyone else miss this Sherlock TV series?

These two actors are my favourite Sherlock & Watson duo. Which two are yours?

HappyTravels I much prefer Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. The old black and white movies are more atmospheric. πŸ”πŸ”

It wasnt a bad version of Sherlock, but I preferred the Elementary version, although the later seasons seem to have lost steam

For me, Jeremy Brett was the quintessential Sherlock Holmes and my first acquaintance with the character. Edward Hardwicke played Watson but not sure if that was in all of them.

There is talk of doing another season or possibly a film version of Sherlock. Both of the lead actors have said they are willing. It may be better if Netflix or Amazon Prime Video took control, as they are better placed to cover the high production costs. I'd like to see more, 14 episodes from 4 seasons isn't very much.

Another series related to Sherlock Holmes, titled The Irregulars, started on Netflix a few weeks ago. So far I've only watched the first two episodes. It has more of a supernatural theme. It has potential, but I'm not convinced yet.

My favourite duo is Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.

I would love to see more classic series. There’s so much blood, gore and violence on tv especially in detective shows. Oh I’m just being an old fart, forgive me.
