Where to Take Someone on a First Date?
Ask a Question
I know alot of this dating stuff nowadays is online but it would still be nice to go out somewhere.
Pinkspirit that's a great idea (exhibition or gallery) so there is something to talk about incase you end up stuck for something to say.
First date I took my wife on was elland road to watch Leeds v Millwall in the 1980's lol well it was a Saturday date, rude not too
martinlufc5637 You charmer you.I had a fella took me to his Scaletrix night. That was fun..er not.
MelissaLee1 it could have been worse, he could have taken you trainspotting lol
Pjran I saw the same film 3 times in a fortnight with three different fellas when I was a teenager!I I think it was Abba the movie.I enjoyed it though.
Pjran I am three years a widow and enjoying my freedom after many years caring around the clock so not in a hurry to re-engage as it were. I think I spent all my energies in my turbulent and ebullient youth lol.
MelissaLee1 sorry to hear that But your question implies that you want to start dating. I know it’s not easy being a widow.
Pjran Swings and Roundabouts as they say.Nights are lonely but life is more flexible and I have lots to keep me busy.I have male friends but no desire to commit just yet.I'm a little too stuck in my ways now.
MelissaLee1 sounds like you might be willing to find someone for companionship so don’t give up.
Pjran Keeping my options open but not in a mad hurry.Time to sleep.Early start.
I went bowling on my first date with my fiancé many moons ago. If you can still fancy someone wearing ugly bowling shoes then you’re onto a winner
If it’s cold a museum or gallery for things to look at and talk about. Cinema but you can’t talk while watching film unless you go to cafe before or after it. A walk somewhere.
Many years ago my first date took me to an airport for a drink. Also to watch the planes take off and land. He got dumped after a dreadful night out.
Sugarbabe I had a boyfriend who drove a tube train and wanted me to ride up and down the Northern line.Nice fella but didn't last long that romance.
When I first started dating we used to go for walks, ride bikes and even go roller skating in the park. We often met at the swimming baths or hung out at funfairs ,picture houses and slow dances at school and church discos. I seem to recall lots of house parties when I was in my teens but we had to be home by a certain time and the men always had to see us home safe or at least see us to the bus stop or put us in a cab.
I went on a pottery making & decorating class for a first date a long time ago. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I was rather good at it as I had done it a few times before. As it goes when I noticed his vase was more a very wonky bowl I messed mine up slightly so he didn't feel so bad but still had a laugh & a good day out until a few weeks later he was telling my mate about it & she says was the one on my unit the one he made & I said no I made it. To which she replied "that's sh** compared to the ones you done last year" I couldn't stop laughing & had to explain myself. Thankfully he found it really funny. We didn't end up together but did become good friends and still talk about it now
On a first date it is probably good to actually do an activity so there is less chance of awkward silences. The normal, cinema, bowling but a bit more adventurous ice skating is great to get close to someone or go ape can be challenging and fun. Escape rooms are great for communicating but could land in a row!
As someone who’s in the game at the moment i find an activity to break the ice and then pub or whatever after that
We went to the beach for a walk. It was lovely we walked miles with our even realising it .
I took my partner for a walk on the beach and then for a meal on the second date she picked a walk in the wood's
