Do You Stop Buying for Kids( Friends kids.) When They Grow up ? if Yes What Age?

At age 18

My mum and dad's friends stopped buying presents for me at 18. They got me something for my 21st, when I got married and when our son was born. I think 18 is the right age to stop. I only buy for one of my friends children, otherwise it gets too expensive

Yeah either 16 or 18 I would say. It does get expensive but it’s a lovely thing to do

we dont go by age as such, but more on how close we are to them. Children of our closer friends who we see regularly still get gifts from us even past 18. friends and relatives we don't see will get a card if they are lucky - usually just a quick message on facebook.

My friends and I discuss it. Depends on the kids. If the kids still get really excited even over a little gift we will keep buying but put a limit on it.

Last year one of my friends kids had turned 11. He thought he wasn’t getting anything off me. So I got him a tub of chocolates- opened it and put £11 inside in 2p and 1p coins. I’m now known as his Aunty who is a bit barmy lol

Its 18 in my family. With close family members they may continue after 18 and then when you have kids they stop buying for you and instead buy for the kids, but not all of them do this.

I stopped buying for nephews and nieces once they left full time education, you just have to brave and stick to a rule you deem fit.

Depends if you like them but past eighteen or when they start earning is probably a good time.
