Have You Been Storing Your Baileys Wrong ?

Ask a Question

I think a lot of people love a baileys for christmas , and i bet like me you have purchased a bottle this year, or an equivalent brand

This article may not be that important to some people, but i think the way it is stored is

I have always kept mine in the fridge when opened , thinking it would go off if i didn't , especially as it contains cream

But according to this article it won't , and can be kept up to 2 years opened or closed

I suspect this has a lot to do with the alcohol content acting as a preservatve

This is good news for all baileys fans, you dont need to guzzle it down and can savour it over a longer period

Plus if you want to add it to a hot chocolate or coffee it is better at room temperature as it won't make the hot drink cold

Also to wish all members and staff on LD a very merry christmas and a happy new year

I did drink 🍹 a bottle once and just kept it in a pull out cabinet where we store all sorts like jam and ketchup and sauces

Merry Christmas 🎄

I remember my friend's grown up daughter jokingly saying to me that I could make my daughter ill by giving her Out Of Date Baileys..I told her that Baileys keeps for 2 years, telling her to check, she did & I was right!

Ive never really kept it in the fridge after opening and not really noticed any problems with it from not doing so.

Although it says you don't need to it doesn't say you shouldn't keep in fridge so I think I will probably continue to do so......old habits die hard and so on.

If it's poured from the fridge it's too cold to taste. Better to drink and store at room temperature I think

My parents and Grandparents always kept theirs in the drinks cabinet. Even now my parents keep it in there. I used to work in a pub, the Baileys was just kept on the shelf, never put in the fridge.

I only drink Bailey's at Christmas time, so have never had room to store it in the fridge 😀 So, I've been storing it right, although once opened it doesn't last long.

We found a 5 year old unopened bottle of Baileys this Christmas. My OH said chuck it but I hate waste. I had 4 glasses on Christmas Day and am absolutely fine. Don’t try this at home
