Sun's Out, Morons Out

Ask a Question

Every time we get any decent weather, the boy racers are out in their ridiculously loud cars. It is extra bad today for some reason. Why don't the police do something?

What's it like in your area?

Leannexxx Been a lot of noise since 7:30am in our cul-de-sac at the drug house. There's recently been an extra special clown calling there with his music blasting at all hours

TheChimp The drug house. That doesn't seem safe to live nearby to.

PhilipMarc it's a strange story, I'll try to keep it short.

We live in a cul-de-sac where there were rules that bungalows had to be built if there were any builds. The developer ignored it and built 2 separate houses.

There was a covenant on our street that any developer would have to stay within council rules, but they ignored it and now there are 2 separate dwellings..

Everyone in our cul-de-sac complained, but the builder was given respective planning permission.

We all know that it was a brown envelope job in one way or another.

TheChimp It's happening all over the country with developers building houses even in the back gardens, but how that story is related to the drug house. Did developer build a social housing in your quiet cul de sac area, and some riff raffs moved in? Or it's your assumption about the drug house. If you are concerned report anonymously on crime stoppers website or speak with a local police.

Regardless, I live in London and visit a lot of areas and for example smell of weed is almost everywhere from Hyde Park to Highgate, so it's not only in poor areas.

Drug house would be with windows blocked completely, no snow during winter on the roof and a lot of traffic (on foot or cars).

The smell of weed now is so strong that people can smoke 100s of meters away and you will still smell it, sometimes you cannot see where the person is.

They are out a lot of the time it's just that we are too so we are noticing them more. But you are correct that more of them come out when the weather is nice as they don't like getting wet in the rain and their mummy's make them wear raincoats which are really nerdy. lol

Not just now, they show up when you least expect with their stupid mufflers.

I've seen multiple 20MPH signs (I don't agree with it as it's too slow, unless it was a school, e.g.), but hardly anyone notices it. Especially them.

Pretty terrible where i live as well, it’s not just the boy/girl racers though it just seems when the sun comes out people’s patience disappears

Yes it's the same here. Really brings all the idots out the hot weather. The alcoholic drug takers. Which is most people where I live unfortunately. Can't even walk to local shop with out some idiot making comments at you and openly taking drugs. The police aren't doing anything that's why it's happening more and more.

kitty88uk Fireworks at midnight would really pee me off and would really upset Harvey the woofer. He needs his sleep.

This is him at 5am this morning, he just doesn't need the upset, but the druggies in their loud cars will be here soon ☹️

kitty88uk He's a Jack and a naughty one.

Just had to spend a K on him because of his poorly belly. His new wet food is costing us nearly £4 a tin 😮 Never mind, I'd pay £10 to look after my woofer.

Makes no difference if the sun's out or not we get boy racers year round. Driving is horrendous where I am. So many dangerous drivers/cyclists/bikers regardless of what time of day it is or time it is

We haven't had any more boy racers out in our cul de sac than usual. There aren't that many anyway. Just the boys a few doors up on their motorbikes. Which their mum claims they don't ride up and down our street revving their engines.

MrsCraig I don't get why they like their car/bike sounding like crap as if that's a good thing. 😑

Surely the police should go after them for disturbing the peace and exceeding the level of dB (or Decibel), but of course they don't.

We have a new hostel for druggies near the park, and no one will go to the park because of them and the cars racing down to them. The local council and police backed to go ahead of the hostel

We often have cars race by multiple times a night between 6pm-6am but since the suns been out they seem to have gone into hibernation, we just have to make sure we leave earlier as there are plenty of cyclists, sad to see so many people without helmets and lights though, especially if they have their children with them.

Who said living by the countryside was quiet, quaint and yeah... 😂

I haven’t noticed them in my area but I have noticed certain aged men driving around with the roof down on their cars. The cars are beautiful but not the men.

Its not the drivers that irritate me- its the people that spoil everyone’s day by getting drunk outdoors- sitting in parks near kids parks etc and then using foul language etc. then getting in their cars and driving drunk and yes I do phone the police.

As soon as the nice weather comes we get the eeeeejits in their cars racing around Sheffield, NOT always boy racers either...

I would definitely report someone if I thought they were drunk & then trying to drive , make no mistake about that!

As soon as the nice weather comes you also get the eeeejits burning at all hours WITHOUT coming around to let you know they were having a fire..

In the old days people used to tell you when they were having a fire so you could bring your washing in off the line..

Whenever there's a fire , our little black cat Phoenix comes home snelling like Smokey Bacon Crisp, we don't let his sister Topaz out after a certain time so she usually escapes the smokiness of people's fires..
