Supporting My Daughter on New Years Eve.

Ask a Question

My daughter has just become Landlady of a local pub. I am doing my best to support her. I never go out New Year’s Eve but this year I will supporting my daughters business. What will you be doing New Year’s Eve? If you are looking for a traditional pub with live music check out your local, it could be my daughters.

I will be in bed before midnight! I have a one year old and I don't fancy dragging him out on a cold night, plus he would just sleep through it all anyway and get upset when he was woken up and in a strange place. I hope your daughter has a successful new years eve.

I will be at home watching films and ordering takeaway. New years eve is way too busy for me to go out 🤣

Thank you and I agree with you, when my children were younger I only did New Year’s Eve once and that was my own house party for extended family. All mine are over 18 now so I get a bit of me time back.

Good Luck to your daughter on her new venture. I hope NYE is busy and enjoyable for you both.

I’m a bit of a party pooper I’m afraid. Give me just a few friends, good company, good wine and of course a little good food.

We go to our local which is on our door step, we like to support the local pub as to many have been going out of business recently, they only let the regulars in which is good they have been lady for 25 years now

I'm like several others who have commented and I don't do anything much for NYE. Back in the day when I did go out i would support the local pubs but these days it's either quiet time at home or with the family

I stopped supporting my local pub when they started charging to go in on New Year's Eve. I don't know if they still do because neither me or many of my friends, who supported them the rest of the year, don't go in now,

I had my first drink in many years at my second nearest pub. I, and some of my friends from a group, went there for a Christmas meal earlier this week. I'm still recovering from the shock of being charged £5.15p for a pint of beer, although I did break all records by making one pint last for over 4 hours.

Main topic of conversation was where we would go next year.

We do a lovely meal and a couple of good bottles of wine at home, just me and the hubby. It's our little tradition.

Best of luck for your daughter's big day though! Very exciting night for her! I'd suggest she gets a bouncer as it's NYE and it can get rowdy 😉😉

Thanks for your advice but we won’t be a needing a bouncer we are not in a town.

I love my local. It's a cozy old pub with a open fire & serves fantastic food. I go fairly often with friends. The landlady is a bit of a misery but the few staff who work there are fab. Wont be going NYE tho as never liked going out for NY. Just have a couple drinks at home & bed soon after midnight. Will be there week after for my birthday tho.

I will be at work in an air traffic control tower. These days unfortunately most pilots don't really wish each other or us a Merry Christmas very often, but I don't take it personally - after all, they're probably stoned or drunk and preparing to land ✈ 🚬 🛫🚀🚁🛬🤣
