This Theatre Hasn't Embraced Plastic Reduction Use
Went to theatre with granddaughter the other night. Normally I would take some water with me but being in a rush I forgot.
Went to the bar to buy two bottles of water but barperson began to pour into large plastic cups so I asked if I could take the bottle in with me. I was told no and above the noise heard something about rubbish in the theatre. Oh, says I, so we have to drink these before we go in? Oh no, came the reply, you can take it in with you.
For those of you who may not have quite got my dismay at this, I totally failed to see the logic in each person using two large items of plastic instead of the one bottle. Firstly, the plastic cup was just as likely to be left behind as rubbish and secondly there was far more risk of spillage using a plastic cup in the dark. Am I missing something here?
