What Do You Think is the Best Method for Clearing a House?
Ask a Question
Our friend's have recently sold their house and now have 4 weeks before they move out. They have lived in their house for over 30 years and have gathered a lot of stuff which they have a lot of attachment to. I have been reading about a huge range of methods for how to clear but wondered if anyone has found a method that works in our time frame?
When I moved I made 4 separate areas. Keeps, bin, maybe & charity shop. That really helped me & I had 3 weeks to declutter cause we were downsizing. It may not work for everyone but it did for me at a push x
Ooh I like this idea! Thank you very much. I think we will just have to make sure they don't put too much in the Maybe pile!
SaverDeals the maybe pile got looked at again at the end of sorting everything else out. That way we weren't being to drastic in either hoarding or being to ruthless with it all without thinking it through straight
Have a front yard sale for the things they don't want? Big furniture pieces they're not taking or put on to local selling groups?
Make separate piles. Keep, charity and bin. If you haven't used it or worn it for over a year, unless it has a sentimental value or is useful, then get rid!
You need my husband, he’s ruthless which causes me a great deal of upset. He really doesn’t understand that although you haven’t worn or used an item that you will at sometime in the future but I daren’t mutter about all the things in the garage! I’ll send him round.
