If You Could Time Travel What Era Would You Visit?

Other

I suppose i have to add the caveat that you would not be visible as i wouldn't want you to be struck down by the plague or burnt at the stake!

I would find it very difficult to choose myself but i think i would have to visit Henry VIII and whisper in his ear to stop murdering his wives, stop being a glutton, stop executing those who don't agree with him, avoid that last joust that damaged his head and use more common sense in ruling.

I'd prefer just to be stuck in the 1950 through the 1990's than come back to... Now.

PhilipMarc I often feel I have lived in the best of times, born in the 50s when war was over, childhood was a proper childhood but I am aware there was awful poverty back then as well, far worse than today.

I'd travel back to Jesus times, just to see if he really existed or if he was just a myth....

martinlufc5637 I don't think there is any doubt of his existence, just whether you believe in what he was said to represent. After all, many famous people were born hundreds of years before him and we believe they existed, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, Plato, Aristotle to name just a few. But as religion is banned on here....................

I guess I’d love to see the dinosaurs or something like the Egyptians to see how they built the pyramids etc

jms19 I think I'd choose Roman over Egyptian but they were around in same era. I would give Antony and Cleopatra a good talking to!

Lynibis yeah that’s another good call, any civilisation like that would be amazing to see up close and personal.

I would want to visit the 1950’s or the 1960’s as a teenager and stay there. Not be where I am right now In this era. Lots of reasons why.

Pinkspirit but how do you know going forward would be any better? The world has always been full of evil and wickedness, man's nature will never change. So, what is the point of just existing and then when your time comes looking back and regretting that you didn't live the best life you could have? I am probably considerably older than you and I too worry about this world and it's future but I get on with my life and do as much as I can to offset the bad. I am sorry to sound harsh but you are the author of your own destiny and you can help it, you just have to want to.

I know you will reply as you once did before when I made an innocent remark, but remember, you are not the only one affected by the troubled world we live in.

To be honest I don't think I would want to travel to another era. I love history and enjoy learning about it but wouldn't want to see it first hand.

MrsCraig ah well that is why I added the invisible bit. I imagine (always have done) being in some sort of spirit form and visiting all the bad historical figures and telling them what for! And imagine seeing things as they actually were, not what the history books tell us. I waste about 7/8 hours of my day in bed, I would love to go on nightly wanderings back in time lol!
