Tip! Solar Powered Lantern Saves a Little Power!
Money Saving
Ok so I saw on Amazon they were selling storm Lanterns at around £15. I bought one and i love it. Our bathroom has 6 spot lights. Rather than use those, i leave the storm lantern on the windowsill. It soaks up the sun power in the day and i automatically turn it on rather than the main lights when using the bathroom now. It gives a spa kinda feel which it perfect for relaxing baths. Saves me a few pennies on the bills. Would take a while to pay the £15 back i know but the way prices are headed i'm tempted to buy a few more to use around the house this winter. You don't even need to put them outside, just on a windowsill.
We use a solar light on our stairs and in the utility room. These lamps are so bright too.
SavemeSunday and Pjran Wow, I will be buying both - the storm lantern and solar lights. Thanks for sharing this.
jam45 ya welcome. They really are a help plus if you get a power cut you have something that is powered up and ready to go without using batteries or candles.
I have a solar lamp which I purchased for £12. It works well and has enough light for what I need. I have been tempted to purchase more.
eyeballkerry they are great arnt they. I think anything solar powered is a good investment cuz even if it takes a good while for it to pay off its something that will last for years as the bills keep going up.
SaveMeSunday I have solar lamps all around the garden , a nice addition to security cameras for safety
And they are so cheap on amazon
I've written about this before - although solar lights are very useful in powercuts or when there's no grid electricity available. The purchase cost will never be recovered during their lifetime.
Similar applies to night-lights or candles. Mains powered LED lights are far more economical.
