Tip on How to Get the Most out of Used Candles!
Money Saving
I thought this was a neat little hack. Most candles we burn now are scented. But there is always wax left after the wick has burnt down. You can use a blunt knife to get the spare wax out put it on top of an wax melt burner and use it like a wax melt. And if you want to be really savvy, sell of the empty candle tins on eBay. i sold 3 pretty ones for £5 last week. well worth it.
We used to save up the wax from the candles and make new candles with them. Really easy to do and meant we got a new candle or 2 out of it.
I tried that but not sure if the wicks j bought were dodgy some how as when I burnt them they smoked a black smoke
Yeah the wicks shouldn't have done that. We bought long wicks so that we could use them in the big jars.
I am fed up with my candles pooling I think they call it so you have nothing in the bottom but loads on the sides and no wick left. This is with Yankee Candles the proper ones not the Home ones and I do light them for at least 2 hours as well
Hack ! I so hate that word - not a "hack" maybe at best a tip . Why can't we use the time honoured English language ?
Any spare candle wax in our household goes in my husbands slow cooker. Strange you may say, I certainly did, he puts his bike chains in there!
I do this with my old candles I also burn a candle and when I blow it out I pour the hot wax in tin foil and wipe jar your candle smells more stronger as your taking away the old wax and use the wax in the tin foil for your burner
