Our Tips are Reopening!

Ask a Question

So, our tip finally opens on Wednesday.

What have people struggled to get rid of? Is it just excess household waste from being at home or is it clearing our junk etc.

Although our garden waste has continued to be emptied fortnightly we have struggled with excess garden waste due to more gardening. I know in the next county all garden waste collection was suspended.

What do you think of this?

It's glass bottles with us.

We're not supposed to go out except for essential stuff, but the council won't come and pick them up.

Hopefully the coppers won't stop me when I take them to the bottle bank later.

We haven't struggled to get rid of anything. I started having a clear out before lockdown and got rid of loads of things then. I have stuff that will be sold when this is all over, but it is in a cupboard so not bothering us. We don't have anymore waste or recycling than normal. Our garden waste isn't being collected but that doesn't bother us as we have a small garden and we normally only needed it emptied once in the summer anyway, so if it starts to compost then it starts to compost.

MrsCraig If you can fit everything you need to get rid of in one cupboard, you are around two years ahead of me. Well done.

Dennab we have 3 built in cupboards in our spare room which have shelves, so the cupboard that we never use has all the stuff in it. If I hadn't decluttered before lockdown then I would need all 3 cupboards!

Yes a lot of people seem to have had clear outs of things. We have half an acre so garden waste is always an issue and we always end up taking extra to the tip. I don't know how we would cope with no green bin.

The dates for our collections have been all over the place the last few weeks and we missed the cardboard recycling so that's now rammed with over a week to go.

Like you rararachel, gardening waste has been a problem. We are trying to reclaim an overgrown garden so have to cut back shrubs, briars etc. The garden waste bin is full again as soon as its emptied. Canโ€™t wait to go to the tip.

Our glass bin was also full, but I chanced a visit to the bottle bank over the weekend ๐Ÿ˜Š Image
