How much toilet roll do you use?

I have two boys and not at home all day but some how they manage to use a roll each a day?!?! Iv put them on toilet roll rations. Does anyone else have this issue?

They use a roll a day? Probably use up far more than they actually need. Some kids like doing it just for fun.

Currently yes they didn’t used to. And they both say it wasn’t me. iv given them a roll each now and told them to make it last a week haha they think it’s cool they have their own roll and hidden it their bedrooms away from the other one now

Faye1 That's brilliant and much more likely to be successful because of how you've approached the issue, clever 🙂

1ofanotherkind they are barely using any now and they keep coming and telling me iv only use x much today. Last night though we had visitors and my youngest said if you need the toilet you can borrow a few pieces of my toilet roll 😂🙈

I admit that at first this made me laugh but this is an expensive problem. Perhaps you should downgrade for a week or so to a much cheaper product and see if they notice the difference - then tell them they are wasting so much you will have to stick to the cheaper brands.......

They are little boys they dont notice. I buy cheaper brands now because it was costing me a fortune

Get some of the good old fashioned loo roll we had at school in the 80’s. Was like wiping yourself with grease proof paper!!! See how much they waste then lol

That’s not a bad idea very tempting. I would just worry Incase they skip using it altogether haha

Show and tell.

Get them into the habit of only tearing off three sheets at a time, wipe, then tear off the next three sheets. Any more than 3 sheets at a time generally gets wasted by kids.

Iv tried this but It didn’t work. I cant follow them into the bathroom anymore to make sure they do it because they are to old

Faye1 Then take their roll and tear it into pieces for them for the week.

And tell them once used they have to buy their own or go without. Tough love.

Johnny I wouldn't describe your suggestion as being "Tough love" more like being tight fisted! lol

They sound like typical males to me. My father is exactly the same. 😀

My son has special needs, and occasionally has "issues" when we go through toilet roll at an alarming rate. We now buy in bulk from Amazon - getting 60 rolls at a time. It pays to shop around as otherwise it can indeed get very expensive - and its not his fault so we just have to do what we can to save money

Why not get them one of those new fangled toilet brushes, it will save a fortune over time, they make a good defence weapon too. Image

The worse thing about toilet rolls, is when someone leaves one piece left on the roll, they know they are doing it, they just can not be bothered to change it.

Family of 5 and we easily use a roll a day. I'd rather they use as much toilet roll as they need its not rationed in my house.

Maybe we Brits should adopt the Japanese toilets. Google it. My husband had the pleasure of using one and let’s just say our conversations were toilet related while he was away.
