If You Took a Driving Test Do You Think You Would Pass?

Ask a Question

Driving tests have started up again today and they have a backlog of about 420,000 so if you don't pass first time then the waiting time to rebook is about 17 weeks. So not much pressure!

If you were to take a test today do you think you would pass first time or have you picked up too many bad habits.

I think I would probably fail and I think a lot would too.

Would you pass first time?

No roads are a mystery to me these days, no lane discipline, speed limits all over the place, other users are rude and impatient , and it's amazing how little people use those little flashing orange lights on the cars , that gives other road users a clue as to where they are going.

Did you not know that certain cars don't have those orange flashing lights? You would think so of these expensive cars would include them with the cars.

Massive fail for me. I only drove once in the last 15 years, in Italy, and freaked out as I was so out of practice. I really wanted couple of days trip in the tuscany countryside and my husband hasn't got a licence so I rented a car and 15 minutes in I nearly gave up because of the anxiety it gave me. I did manage just about but didn't see any of the views as I was concentrating on not killing us 🙈🙈🙈

I'd definitely fail on the sat nav part as I can't hear it properly so have to ask passengers to tell me where it wants me to go

My daughter is hoping to learn soon

I'd be a more clued up driver now than I was in my twenties when I passed ...but now I think I'd end up being too cautious so am happier to save a fortune and walk or bus it. .... far less stressful too.

Yes, follow the rules and laws and you'll have no trouble.

However, "pro" drivers would have a 50/50 chance of failing since they think they know the road better than anyone.

I think I would pass , but I'd have a refresher lesson with an instructor just to make sure I hadn't picked up any bad habits in my 50 odd years of accident and incident free driving (just one speeding ticket in 1975 ) 😏. My Dad taught me years ago and gave me the best piece of advice ever - "Treat every other driver as an idiot " In general they are , and I treat every other driver on the road as such and that has certainly saved me from grief on several occasions 😮.

I’ve been driving for years so deffo picked up some bad habits. I’d need a few driving lessons with a professional before I take one 😆
