Trolley.co.uk - the New My Supermarket App
Money Saving
I was gutted when they closed down the My Supermarket site, as I always used it to compare prices of grocery and household items
but fear not, I’ve come across www.trolley.co.uk/, and it’s very similar, if not better! (with a barcode scanning function)
Has anyone used this site yet? Are they any others around?
UPDATE:
LD also has a supermarket price comparison tool. You can check it out here:
Thankyou. I used to like My Supermarket but I’ve been using the supermarket comparison on LD. Is the trolley one any better?
For those who may not know, the Latest Deals app has a built in Supermarket Price Comparison tool. Whilst it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Trolley (as we built it very quickly to help people in the first COVID lockdown) it is free and does the basics: Search for any product and see where it's cheaper. You can learn more here:
Tom I’ve found this very useful, especially in conjunction with grocery cashback apps. It is simple to use and does the job.
I’ve updated my original post so others in the community can see it straight away
the more tools, the better
Tom I was saying last week we are going to have to make a list then find cheapest shop to buy it all to save money will tey this next week thanks
I’ve been using the Trolley app for a couple of weeks and it’s pretty good. It was a bit glitchy earlier though.
most usually are. Thankfully I’ve not had issues, and it replicates how I used to use my supermarket when I’m shopping, so I’m happy
Haven't seen this one before. I'll take a look. Very useful with all the current price rises.
Thank you for making us aware, I like to check out new comparison tools. I should use them more often.
You’re welcome. I tend to use it when I’m already in store, as I’ve got access to a few of the supermarkets nearby, so I can be flexible with where I buy things
So agree with you on that and I like so many appreciate your post and so many others posts on here to make people's lives better.
I’m so glad I came across it, and have happily been using it since. Saves me from having to check the supermarkets individually online
Thank you for listing both sites. I’ll check their prices and hopefully buy items in bulk while on offer.
Yes, definitely it will help with budgets if you need to stock up on items that are usually pricey
Does it just compare branded items or does it compare supermarket own items too? I don't buy branded items, I shop between Lidl, Aldi and Asda, but would it tell me for example which supermarket had the cheapest own brand BBQ pizza? Also is it just grocery items or does it also compare the supermarket clothing items?
I’ve not searched own items, so I don’t know. But I know it doesn’t recognise some specialist items, so perhaps it won’t. I doubt clothing item search options are there
MrsCraig I’ve just done a quick search on pizza and it does include own brand.
You’re welcome. It’s useful to have in store too as they have the barcode scanner - just used it again today
trolley.co.uk/compare the prices is a load of rubbish. It is very, very slow to use on my laptop. It gives me limited comparison supermarkets and sometimes out of date or expire already. Also if you spell the brand wrong it does not recognise it.
