I would say between 40” to 49” is the perfect size, but I guess it would depend on the size of the room that it’s going in also!

I bought a 55" tv for my small living room and luckily it had a fault and had to go back because it was just too big. In the end I went for 49" which is just right. I remember reading that the bigger the TV the likelihood that the owner is poorly educated with higher educated people likely to give less importance to TV and have smaller sets. I guess that makes me Mr Average as a quick look online shows the average TV size now is 48". However my TV is only about 6-7' away from my eyes which just about allows everything to be seen in my field of view which wasn't true of 55" where I had to keep moving my head.

KirsteyJames I think they just look at statistics and analysis the data to see patterns. I would of thought someone with a huge house and living room, i.e. a high earner would have a huge tv although remember when I was delivering an expensive B&O hifi system in the past to a very large house they only had a tiny tv in the study but that was back in the days of CRT's. Next to it was a Sony betamax player and the only tape was a pre-recorded version of the Royal wedding between Charles and Diana. No other tapes anywhere to be seen.

Some time ago I was at a retail park and 2 men came out of Currys with a huge tv in a box and was curious to know which vehicle they would put it in as it was so huge but they didn't stop to put it in a vehicle at all they walked straight out of the retail park so must have been walking it home because it couldn't fit in their car or didn't have a vehicle. Must have been at least 60" possibly more.

Ive got a 65” in my living room 🀣 its on the wall and i dont think it looks big anymore but im used to it. Took 3 of us to get it up there mind. Ive got a 55” in my bedroom and my sons is 40” i think - he has got a 20” something for playing his xbox though because apparently gaming is better on a smaller screen πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I've just gone from a 49" to 65" and it looks perfect on the wall in my lounge and i'm extremely happy with it πŸ™‚ Before making my purchase I measured the TV that I was contemplating buying and cut out a piece of card and propped it in from of the old TV just to make sure I wasn't making a mistake and it would look hideous in my lounge, result...it didn't. Picture to show TV on the wall of one side of my lounge. To be honest though I think it all depends on the size of your lounge.

Got a 49" and a much smaller one (maybe 29"?). Don't like watching stuff on the small one really - too small. Unfortunately can't fit a bigger one in that room though.

I have a 65" TV on my wall and it looks perfect in my living room. Would never go back to a smaller size. In the bedrooms we have 32" and they are just right there too.

65" is the current norm now!

50 55 are small thats why the prices have come down on the 50 /55 range no longer the in thing!

Big is better at least for us guys dunno bout you gurlies!

>;o)

I have a 100" Panasonic plasma myself originally cost Β£65,000 12 years ago but better than most cheap LED tellies - I prefer to keep old stuff working myself - once you have played Star Wars Battlefront II or watched the footie on a 100" telly you can never go back to anything else its just too small.

Mines 49" and that's the one I won just before xmas. Before that I think it was about 30 something inches. The new tv is the biggest one I've ever had. I love it.

We have a 49" in sitting room & bedroom wall. I find it plenty big enough.

"65 inch TV"

"Average room"

That doesn't seem right. So, he put more effort into buying a TV than keeping the room somewhat nice, eh?

Anyway, for me I don't mind 32" or 42". If I want bigger I'd go to the cinema.
