If I can give up sugar I am sure you can give up ciggies lol. Look at it this way......20 a day @Β£10 a pack = Β£70 per week, Β£300 per month. That would pay my gas, electric, council tax, sky, water and mobile......all my direct debits lol. Hope you see this as encouragement rather than a lecture but I feel you are quite young so imagine all that money over the years to come. Β£3,600 per year, Β£36,000 per decade. And the health benefits?

Lynibis i buy tobacco cheap off someone that goes abroad a lot so probably only costs me about Β£10 a week. If i was paying Β£10 a day i would of given up long ago. I do vape aswell but i will swotch back and forth between the 2 🀣 Will probably switch back to vaping soon though as apparently all menthol filter will be banned in May πŸ™ˆ Everytime ive given up my wife never does and its so tempting when she is smoking by me, she wont smoke if she cant have menthol though. We are also in process of renovating our house and having new furniture so wont want to smoke then anyway. Hopefully by next year we will both be smoke free and healthier.

That's really good to hear KirsteyJames. My lecturing granny post was purely out of regard for your health. I can't stand to think of folk sucking in noxious smoke into their lungs lol.

Auto tune. Either you can sing or you can't. No cheating. It has ruined pop music in many ways as now untalented people who look good make records instead of talented ones.

OneeyedRaven I think for sure it has not helped with being able to socialise in real life for example. But it has also added so much convenience, plus the ability to communicate very easily with people we wouldn't normally be able.

Social media. I think it's taken people's common sense away and created a bunch of attention seeking drama queens. I daily see a cryptic message followed by the "what's up Hun?" then "I'll message you" I really don't care. Also inspirational quotes like "Today is another day, you're one day closer to snuffing it, anon"

I was going to say Social Media for the exact reasons you stated. I had to come off FB a while ago as couldnt stand the narcism anymore & my opinions of people I liked were changing because of idiotic things being posted. I had a relative who I'd always thought rather highly of, start posting offensive unfactual racist posts about imagrints....that was final straw! Also I dont care what someone is having for there breakfast / lunch etc & dont need to see a pic of it. Zzzzz!

I'd un-invent the "duck face" that kids put on to have photos taken of them selves. Seriously, it's not nice and it makes them look ugly, so why do it? These kids have lovely faces, why spoil it looking like you are sucking a lemon?

MeestairChrees If there were no planes, people could not drop bombs on others, travel would be restricted to boats and trains and diseases would spread less easily........coronavirus.

Lynibis you already uninvented bombs, so planes can't be used to drop them. Diseases spread very easily with just boats hundreds of years ago. All you're doing is preventing convenience for no reason.

MeestairChrees Oh Dear, sorry I was not taking it as seriously as you so I didn't sit and work out whether one would preclude the other, just three things off the top of my head I would like uninvented. After all planes are also contributing big time to the ruination of the environment.

Definitely Lynibis Sunday opening. Weekends used to be lovely. People didn't work on a Sunday unless they were emergency services. Now everyone's in such a rush and if a shop closes for a day it's the end of the world! I would also love to uninvent mobile phones!

Mobile phones. Most people can't stop looking at them and conversation has died πŸ™ not that I'm a chatterbox myself, far from it. I also believe that because of mobile phones chiropractors are never going to be out of work with all those sore necks! 🐞

Plastics. We managed perfectly well before it's invention. We had cleaner oceans, less litter, smaller hole in the ozone layer, richer earth and stomachs of some animal species were less full of it

Motor bikes! When driving down the motorway you’ll always get them whizzing down the middle of the traffic. They don’t wait in line like everyone else has to and never drive in a lane. Apparently we have to think bike for them, even though they pretty much don’t follow the Highway Code. I’m not saying everyone drives like this... just the majority.

Not a fan!
