Ask a Question

Which vacuum cleaner is the best for both carpet and wooden flooring? I need a new one. I am thinking which one to buy.

I use a dyson one which is great but heavy. I’ve owned several dyson over the years because they have such good suction, easy to clean, useful tools and great customer service.

Dyson V6 bit old but cordless and lightweight, managed to get it in a black friday sale for £125

Up until recently I've always preferred my Dyson to anything around. There was an offer on Amazon for a Shark and I cannot believe how good it is on both carpet and hard floors. Comparatively lightweight although the 'suck' on my carpets on the first run had me struggling to push it a bit. I realised it was picking up more than my Dyson and finer stuff too. Early days for me but I am impressed.

I bought a shark last year and for someone that hates hoovering, I love it, I've got 7 cats and my carpets look like new with it, it almost has power steering too if you have it on the right setting, the suction is amazing, it's lightweight and with the liftaway you can turn it into a stick or handheld vacuum. Really impressed

elise Yes I forgot to mention the liftaway function - this makes the stairs an absolute breeze. I am also a hater of hoovering. 😁

angemski it's great for my car too, the cord is long enough to get out there, it's light enough too I just have to remember that it is that powerful I might hoover the entire car up

elise I'm beginning to understand what you mean. I have just used it a carpet-tiled area and the seams started lift even though they are stuck down!!!!!! 😮 😆

angemski my ex boss had one, didn't realise there was a loose carpet thread until he turned round and saw it all unravelled and in the vacuum. I use it to get cobwebs down from beams in my front room and I swear I saw a beam move the other day

Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has powerful section and longer battery life than their previous products but very expensive.

I’ve got a dyson and a Henry. The dyson is great for the dog hairs but anything more than that it’s awful. The Henry however is brilliant.

Ive got hetty (pink henry) and she is brilliant. I had a henry before her and it would take a lot for me to switch brands now.

I got a shark about a year ago. It is really very good although you have to have some muscle as it has such good suction that it pulls away from you and drives off

I would recommend Shark, had Dyson for many years, but changed to Shark about 12 months ago and would not go back

I have Dyson v8 but my brother owned the v6 previously and them purchased a shark. He thinks I should buy the shark model as the suction is much much better so now I'm just waiting for my hoover to somehow stop working!
