What Do You Want for Your birthday....?
Ask a Question
Does anyone else struggles with dreaded question- what do you want for your birthday???... I think after certain age I kinda stopped wanting material things... Also I got plenty perfume, handbags, shoes etc... I might ask for a gift of experience next time which couldn't happen this year due to Corona...
I find after my birthday, thereโs a ton of things I need / want but at the time, thereโs never anything this year I really struggled because I was pregnant and in lockdown.. my partner bought me a ton of bath bombs and candles and some huge jumpers to hide the bump
sarahgreen15 sameI asked for more orchids I love my flowers. Rather than that i dont really need anything. Plus I would rather spend money on baby stuff I need rather than myself at the moment... and there's no point in getting another bag or whatever since I wont be going anywhere my sons birthday is close to mine too. And usually I like to buy him something to keep him active...but hes already got scooter, bike etc...so that was hard too and hes only 7!
GSM give it another few months or maybe next year really... I don't fancy going anywhere with lots of people just yet...
I agree that upon reaching a certain age there is little you want/need although I imagine those struggling financially would be grateful for lots. At my age now the 'gift' I cherish most is my family treating me to lunch or dinner and spending time with them. I also like to be taken out to the cinema or theatre as being a singleton I don't get much opportunity to do this.
I haven't had my birthday 2020 yet but was going to get tickets for Collabro until covid cancelled it. My son has got me tickets for 2021 birthday for their new rescheduled dates.
Lynibis apparently I was meant to get tickets to go somewhere too but obviously it will have to be next year too... I would love to go zorbing or try something different makes the best memories
I buy things I like and not necessarily need constantly, Iโm a bit naughty really. Anyway, my husband and I have agreed not to buy gifts for each other as over the years Iโve returned countless things to shops for refund including some hideous sapphire and diamond earrings! However I do appreciate him giving me bouquets when Iโm least expecting them, that happened this week. When the children ask me I generally try and think of little things as they need their money for their own homes. I know youโre thinking of suggesting a gift experience, I do love going out for an afternoon tea.
Pjran that's exactly it...unless you can get it right it's hard to choose a present to someone...wow you returned diamond earrings?what was his reaction? I wouldn't have the heart to do that...I got designer handbag... but its heavy and bulky even when its empty so I barely used it once it twice... but he was so pleased with himself I couldn't tell him that it wouldn't of been my choice really...he always says I'm hard to buy for anyway
jurgita0712 I hope youโve grown to like the handbag by now. I remember commenting I liked the style of a bag but I would like it in a different colour. My husband only listened to first bit of the remark, haha another return. As for the earringS they were returned and I chose a gold watch instead.
Pjran men do have selective hearing well that bag is in the box...usually I use another black bag so I dont know if he realised its not the samelol I said once that i like one of yankee candles... so he bought me huge box full of different smelling yankee candles and some of them were horrible so the smelly ones are still in that box too
It is my 30th this year and I would be happy just to go out for a family meal. After my 21st I didn't really bother with my birthday. My husband gets me a card, a cake and we get a takeaway or go out for dinner and that is enough for me.
It's my birthday in a week or so and all I would like is a cream tea at our favourite place, which I believe has re-opened, but I am still wary of covid, so we will stay at home.
Since my first granchild was born on my birthday 3 years ago and I was at the birth I got the best birthday present I could ever ask for. Now I actually forget itโs my birthday as all my attention is focused on his birthday.
heatherduthie that's so sweet that's the thing after you have kids/nieces/grandkids etc you always want to make their birthdays special while your own really becomes only a number...
