Warning: A Lot of Chinese Rubbish Appearing

Latest Deals

WARNING

I have done a few orders through Latest Deals via Amazon over last 2 months.

Most when you order take a month to arrive. In itself this is no problem but when they do not arrive - 6 'lost' recently after a month waiting, and then they delay on refunding asking you to edit longer.

Others are frankly cheap tat ( not like pictures shown) and not worth anything like the so called full price ( some not even worth discounted price- pounds tires have better).

Lastly some are not what I even ordered.

There are some good deals but most of the really cheap Amazon ones are certainly not.

Very disappointing.

What do you think of this?

It's obvious when it's a Chinese seller - check before buying. Check feedback and use your own judgement. Check product reviews too. If something arrives that you didn't order, then you can get your money back.

Not always obvious MeestairChrees (for example are you Chinese with that user name?). The main clue is usually time it takes to deliver.

Also some feedback is obviously dubious or fake and if pictures embellished makes it difficult.

Also not all Chinese vendors have bad products, Mango 4 summed it up closely with the old adage you get what you pay for - usually. I was just stating there are some dodgy ones being recommended here, do beware.

richcath1986 what about my username sounds Chinese?

You can tell a seller is Chinese because their seller profile says so - it lists their address and business name - very easy to tell.

There certainly are bad Chinese sellers (and UK ones), but seller feedback (rather than product feedback) gives a good idea. You can check any negative feedback and if you don't like it, don't buy from them, or buy with caution. You'll be protected either way. Negative feedback will often say products didn't arrive, took too long (bit unfair for Chinese sellers since the estimated delivery time is normally overestimated), the product wasn't as advertised, etc. It's easy to spot that kind of stuff - if they're a bad seller, they will have negative feedback (or none at all because they're new). Sometimes it's worth the risk for a bargain though, since you're guaranteed to get your money back.

Hi richcath1986 🙂

Sorry to hear you've had some purchases that didn't live up to expectations. We pride ourselves on letting as many deals are possible be shared on LD as what is or isn't a deal can often be subjective.

We then leave it up to all you guys to vote/comment and decide on what's good or bad. Please do leave comments and feedback on posts if you've had bad experiences to help out other members.

If you see a particular retailer or Amazon seller that you feel is consistently misleading people please drop us a message with details using our contact form. If we get a lot of reports about the same retailer/seller then we can take measures to prevent their deals being shared on LD 👍

Same issues with many sellers, ebay, aliexpress, gearbest etc. There are quality Chinese products right down to complete rubbish. I remember buying cheap bicycle lights from ebay, they looked the same as the poundland ones and I'd managed to win an auction where I paid only 30p approx but when it came the battery contacts were low grade steel and starting to corrode already and the poundland light I had was much better quality with better contacts despite looking identical externally. Who would of thought there would be a huge quality difference at that level of pricing but I guess they cheaped out on the internal contacts for the model designed for mainland China.

To be fair it the old saying you get what you pay for. Personally I have never had much luck with Amazon third party sellers or eBay , when you buy from unknown or foreign sellers ,who appear to be offering great deals at unrealistically low . Tend to now stick to buying from companies I know , still some great deals to be had from them
