Weddings Only Allowed 5 Guests

In the News

Just seen in the news that weddings are only allowing 5 guests at the moment. Are you getting married, will you change your plans. Question for all, which five people would you choose if you were getting married?

I'm already married but I can answer that question easily. My mum and dad, mother in law, husbands granny and my brother in law.

My friend was due to get married next month but has had to cancel. She is devastated and they have lost a lot of money!

Too many!

The Church said weddings should be limited to the legal minimum of five people - the priest, bride, groom and two witnesses.

Johnny the post said 5 guests, but if it is 5 people in total then I would have my husbands Granny and my best friend as our witnesses.

This should come as a great relief to those who would like to marry but not able to do so because they can't afford to get married if there are too many guests. I wonder if it will cause a rush to get married from those choosing to save thousands of pounds.
