What's the Best Way to Get Rid of a Verruca

Ask a Question

The pharmacist gave me salactol but is there a better quicker way to get rid. She said it can take 12 weeks it's been around 4 already

Bazooka cream over counter and just exfoliate the dead skin after bathing. Other than that not a lot.

Imnotcheap Sorry I can’t remember how long it might take. In Boots they are buy one get another for half price. Different strengths. If you have lots of points you might be able to use those.

I would go back to the pharmacist and explain to him how long it has taken so far and ask if they consider this to be normal. If it isn't normal ask to them to take a look at your daughter foot to confirm that it definitely is a verruca and what they suggest your next step should be - no pun intended.

It can take months, sometimes years for a verruca to clear up. Nothing you can do but to keep treating it.

I had one and the Bazooka stuff didn't work to kill it and it stayed so I just washed my feet every night in a basin of hot water and TCP and Dettol for a month and it was dead white skin easily picked off.

NOW I prefent it happening by wearing flip flops in the swimming pool showers or Hotel Bathrooms.

Salactol or the freezing treatments, both take time but will work. Bazooka doesn’t really do anything other than suffocate them and kill the surrounding healthy skin.

The virus can take a while to kill off, persistence is key.

I used a pair of tweezers, took quite a long time and it's never came back. Can be a bit painful though.
