What's Happened to Our Roast Dinners
Other
I Was reading in the papers the other day and it said between 18 month 2 years that the roast dinners will be gone. Because know one is cooking the roast dinner. Well I still have the roast dinner. I some times have a mid week roast dinner. And some weekends. Do any of you still have a roast dinner. When I was little I use to love to sit around the table with the family and have a good old roast dinner. On a Sunday. Then after the meal we watched a good after noon film on tv. It's a shame that all will just stop.
I cook one roast dinner a week. The only reason why I haven't done lately is due to the heat and not wanting all that heat from the cooker to add to the temperature indoors.
I love a roast but live on my own so abit much for one person
my lovely mum still does one every Sunday
I don't as there is only 2 of us. When I was younger we didn't have them every Sunday, we only had them when Dad was home (he worked abroad). My mother in law still does a roast, but she does it when she has family over, so certainly not every Sunday either. My husband and I enjoy going out for a carvery, but we see a roast as a treat.
My parents and I love a good ol' Sunday roast. My dear ol' mother does a perfect job at it.
I love a Sunday dinner but I'm a terrible cook so mine never quite works out! Going to my mams for one is a real treat, hers is much better than any carvery or pub dinner
Maybe because the meat will be not available. I read so many articles today about eating meat substitutes, most of them taste yukkkk....
I cook roast dinners still (just not in summer). We're having a lot of quick dinners while it's hot. I have to admit, I cut a lot of corners on my roast dinners though! Sometimes we have sausages instead of a meat. Most the time I don't make potatoes, we have aunt bessies instead! And I buy ready made yorkshires a lot of the time. I can make everything from scratch, but I just don't have the time to. I hope the roast doesn't end, but it is a time consuming, expensive meal, so I can see why it would.
