What's for tea tonight?

Please share your cheap & healthy meal ideas here in this discussion.

I've created this chat following on from a deal I posted early for Asda for 7 meals for 4 people for under £20.

I thought it would be interesting to see what other low budget meals idea's members had that they could share.

Eelwed I've never added broccoli to Mac & Cheese that does sound like it would be nice and something I'll give a try in future

I make a tex Mex with mince meat, macaroni, chilli, onion, tin tomatoes and cheese. Makes a large dinner for six. I think it works out cheap per person.

I was going to say macaroni cheese as my friend is coming round for film night and I am making it. However, I didn't think it fitted your criteria of 'healthy' as it is mainly fat and carbs.

Lynibis very tasty though Mac & cheese and it's good to have a treat especially on a weekend I think. Enjoy your film night 🎥

ILOVEFANTA I will do a side salad to up the healthy bit lol.

My quick and easy meal that is definitely healthy is to boil some new potatoes in the bottom of my steamer, then half way through cooking I put veg in the middle one and fish of your choice on top. I do salmon which isn't cheap but the veg and potatoes are. I must admit I often turn it unhealthy by adding butter and grated cheese to the cooked potatoes lol.

Baked potatoes with cheese, green vegetables, red peppers, mixed together or baked beans and a salad and a frozen baked dessert (apple pie) using the same oven temperature.
