Wheel of Time Thoughts? Game of Thrones Inspired (Ripoff)?

I've just watched the first season of this on Amazon Prime and wondered what people's thoughts of it are. I enjoyed the series although not as much as Game of Thrones but it sort of feels a bit of a rip-off. From what I understand the books were written before Game of Thrones but the series itself seems to be heavily inspired by Game of Thrones in the way it was made. Also for anyone who has played Skyrim the series seems to be very similar in places to that too. It maybe both Skyrim and Game of Thrones took inspiration from the original Wheel of Time books. Obviously Lord of the Rings is a heavy inspiration as well.

There is something about the music that seems to have a similar atmosphere to Game of Thrones that I find most annoying that is something that feels too close for comfort.

Generally great acting, fantastic effects, amazing scenery but too much talking and more of a soap opera in places for my liking.

I hope it develops a bit more of its own character as a series rather than keep reminding me of Game of Thrones or Skyrim.

The ending of the Season definitely had a very Game of Thrones feel to it. I mean the last 30 seconds or so. Still a fantastic effect for sure, quite breathtaking but it immediately reminds you of Game of Thrones.
