When You Post Deals, Do You Actually Care if It's Really a Deal?

Latest Deals

I'm just wondering how many people just post deals for points on here by going to Groupon, picking the first product they see and posting it. I can't blame them because let's face it, if you're doing it purely for the rewards, 10p isn't enough for actual effort if you don't genuinely enjoy finding the deals.

Johnny Check your last deal then. It's the same price on Asda 😉

Dennab Does that stop it being a good deal? If so why? It may be worth noting about 7 million uk households have Amazon Prime and so get ‘free’ delivery on almost every Amazon deal, even for products that are just a few quid. The supermarkets can’t match that. I would guess that at least half the people using LD have Amazon Prime.

Johnny Yes, it does. Having a product today from a shop is better than having it delivered tomorrow. Also, it's £2 off the normal price so hardly find of the century is it? Deals like this water the site down and hide the stuff that is actually worth seeing.

Johnny Try posting it on HUKD where there is a lot more members and see how it performs.

Dennab I've noticed loads of my deals get posted on HUKD, and other deal sites, often just a few minutes after I post them on Latest Deals.

No,I don't go on Groupon 🙂 I check Amazon for deals,as I have prime.

Also if I am doing an online shop/food/clothes/toiletries i like to share bargains.

I went shopping at Morrison's today&despite all the chaos there's still bargains to be had,so it's nice to compare on here and share.

nina090976 They're the bargains people should be posting - the stuff in shops we can't all just see anyway by going on Amazon.

Dennab I track the prices of over 1,000 products on Amazon and get alerts once they are below my target price. So it's very unlikely you would see them anyway by going on Amazon except by accident, unless you spent all day every day on Amazon. It's just one of the things I do to help me spot price drops and find good deals for myself and LD members at cheap prices. I also use a price comparison engine to track prices at a wider range of retailers.

Johnny You track a lot of sex products and you're called Johnny! I like it. You do what you want. I'm just providing feedback on what I see.

Thank you for your feedback. Deals are very subjective and what is good value to one person may not be to another.

To help find deals more relevant to you, you can filter the site using the category options or search.

We of course have to tread a fine line and find balance between encouraging members to post genuinely good deals and rewarding each other for doing so.

We’re always open to new feature requests and ideas to improve the site. For example, we’ve toyed with idea of including price history graphs, and price comparison too, so readers have more information to decide for themselves if something is good value or not.
