Will You Be Giving These Very Hot Iceland Meals a Try ?

Ask a Question

These ready meals are so hot you need to be over 18 to buy them

The reason is they are made with the world’s hottest chilli , Pepper X

It scores 2.69 million Scoville heat units , so it is 53,760% hotter than a jalapeño, that is hot !

I like a curry and i have tried a vindaloo and that was hot enough to put my mouth on fire

So i think i will be giving these meals a miss , will you ?

I like hot curries but not super hot. I often have a Iceland Chicken Madras and have had their Vindaloo on occasion and would say the heat of their vindaloo is about the same as a takeaway Madras. Supermarket curries I find typically slightly milder than the same type of curry at a takeaway. I did once try a Sainsbury's Phal curry when they did them and it was far too hot for me and yet probably milder than a phal curry at a takeaway. A supermarket chicken madras is probably the right heat level for me. I did once have a curry in Hungry Horse and it was a specially hot jalfrezi or possibly Rogan Josh and that was a surprisingly hot curry. Probably the hottest I'd had at a restaurant.

BonzoBanana oh my god I tried the vindaloo never again I like spicy food but I've worked out that's only with chicken wings lol

Leannexxx I'm actually having a tin of Asda Vindaloo curry for my tea in a short while but again I think its only about as hot as a madras at a takeaway. In fact I think the Asda tinned Vindaloo is milder than the Iceland frozen Vindaloo (not had the Asda Vindaloo for a very long time so my memory could be wrong).

I've never liked very spiced hot food, l like to savour all flavours of different foods but l don't need the heat to render the food uneatable, it's a no from me

We got my Dad the one chip challenge for Christmas 2 years ago I would get these if they don't have onions or garlic in as he won't eat them! Get some toilet paper in the freezer for the next day! 😆

I prefer to make meals from scratch. I did make a very hot tex Mex once, it was my usual recipe but for some reason it was ‘hot’ but we still ate it as the flavour was so nice.

If i saw them really cheap I'd buy one but can't see me paying the asking price as I know I wouldn't enjoy it. I like a bit of heat but nothing too extreme, I tried some ghost reaper rub at a county fair the other week and it was way too hot for me!

The ghost pepper curry they had a couple of years ago was so hot i could only manage 2 bites, so a waste of money for me

Not for me, I can't stand anything that is hot, even if it's just a bit hot. I know curry is very popular, but not for me.

Thanks for sharing - think I will have to check them out. I’ve had over 1 million scoville before, but 2.69 will be the highest I’ve ever tried

It sounds lovely but I doubt I will try them. I tend to cook my own nowadays. I have done a lot of work In Indian takeaways through the years & was shown how make them. I do remember once I had to fill In a disclaimer form to eat this curry at a restaurant & all my friends said you`re going to be In the back of an Ambulance. I ordered my curry It was off the menu. Hotter than a Phall. It did not effect me. I got It for free In the end. Even the staff Including the chef was watching me. I like HOT CURRIES anyways. As long as you got all the herbs/spices, Its not that hard. The base gravy Is what really makes a curry.
