Are Wind Chimes Annoying?

Ask a Question

Do you find wind chimes annoying and do you love hearing them? Have you got any or have your neighbours got any that you wish would disappear overnight?

I quite like the wooden ones, for me they give a more subtle sound than the metal ones.

I quite like the sound of them but don’t think I would fancy listening to them all day and night it might get very annoying

We once bought some chimes, many years ago, and put them up in the garden. The very next day our neighbour on one side complained and they had to come down. That is the extent of our wind chime experiences which is a shame as we do like them. We have moved a couple of times since them - perhaps we should try again??!! 🐞

They annoy me 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t know why anyone would want to listen to it all the time.. luckily they dont seem hugely popular anymore! Although I would take a wind chime any day over dance music blaring and the smell of drugs that I get from my neighbours....

I absolutely hate them.

I've had a word with both nextdoor neighbours in the past and asked them to take them down because they kept us awake all night.

Nice to hear them tinkling throughout the day but definitely not through the night.

I can just about deal with the birds chirping away at 5am everyday (I let them go because they are cute) but chimes of any kind will be very difficult to deal with on slight wind days!

There's a little one in the garden since we moved in (left by the previous tenant). I quite like it, but when it's very windy i stick a rubber band around it 😁

I want to get some wooden wind chimes to put at the very bottom of the garden. with it being a field, I won't be able to hear them half way up and not at the house. both neighbours have let the bottom of their gardens go wild, so they won't be down there to hear them. the only time I'll hear them is when I'm sitting at the patio area down there.

Depends where they are. In temples and zen gardens, they add to the atmosphere
