Woman Pays Shopping for Woman a Little Short of Cash
In the News
I seen this and thought how nice is this woman help out like that. Think the woman she was helping it cheeky what would you do?
I thought the woman was being cheeky for adding the extras, so would have done the same as I would have said I will pay for the items that you already have not the extras you want to add
tara73ziva honestly after she did that I wouldn't have paid for any of it. its just so rude she should have been thankful that she even offered not try and take advantage
tara73ziva ... my first reaction was that if the colleagues felt so strongly, then they could've paid for the final 2 expensive items! My second was that about 2 weeks ago when a chap couldn't pay his bus fare .... I almost offered some cash but decided not to.... then another passenger paid the full £5.50. I heard bottles clinking in the carrier the chap was holding, felt awful at not offering BUT .... part way on the journey there was a thud and a sweet smell .... when we arrived at the terminus, another passenger reported that the non-paying passenger had dropped an open bottle and the culprit then staggered off with another bottle in his hand. So .... bus departure delayed while it was all cleared up! So .... what was the right thing to do......???
I wouldn't have paid for the expensive items either! If someone offers to pay for your shopping you don't add expensive stuff on to it, that is just really cheeky. I could understand adding an extra loaf of bread or getting some more rice or pasta, the basic staple kinds of food, but wine and steak is just taking the micky out of the person's generosity
I think the first woman did the right thing and shouldn't feel guilty. She was trying to do something kind, and the second woman tried to take advantage.
The woman should have been grateful that someone was offering to pay for her shopping not then take advantage. I wouldn't have paid for the extras either.
We have a lovely local Facebook page (small town) and on several occasions folk have posted a thank you saying someone has helped paying for shopping when some have forgotten their purse. Also a teenager who didn’t have enough cash to buy his lunch a total stranger paid for all of it. Plus there’s a lovely lady who gifts a cream scone with strawberries just to cheer people up.
The idiot that thought it was ok to go get a bottle of wine and steak will just cause people not help out in the future in case that scenario happens again.
I remember years ago there was a rough sleeper sitting outside McDonald's so I offered to buy her a meal, her response was can you buy my boyfriend a Big Mac as well. The look on my face must have said it all as she back tracked. I did buy her a meal as I had offered but it was a while before I ever offered again.
beccatavender oh yeah I've done that and got dog food for there pets I won't give a homeless people money sorry but what I've seen mostly goes on beer or drugs
I think this woman’s work colleagues are really judgemental!! This woman generously offered to cover the short fall for the items on the conveyor belt but not for extra luxury items. She must be really disheartened that her generous offer was taken advantage of and then her colleagues criticised her. It will make her think twice in the future
