Work or Uni Presentations

Ask a Question

Help please.....Anyone who does work or Uni presentations do you dress smart as if you were at an actual interview/formal presentation. We do a lot in house and the dress code in very casual but I have noticed a few newer staff dressing interview ready and worried maybe I will be seen as unprofessional. Anyone any experience as to what is prefered? TIA

If it is for external people then I would dress smarter. If it's an internal presentation then it would seem a bit OTT to dress up. Every company has its own culture though.

If you are presenting to people who are external to the company then smart dress/interview dress would be best as it shows professionalism. If it is just internal then it isn't necessary, but it would also depend what the presentation was about.

Depends on the industry you are in. If it’s corporate or public sector, then full on smart is the way to go. But if it’s for the creative industry, a suit is too stuffy, so smart casual (with colour) should suffice. What you wear should be in line with the mood of the presentation
