The World's First Alcohol-Free Beer Bar

In the News

BrewDog are opening the first alcohol-free bar, which will be good for those that are planning to do dry January.

This coming Monday in central London we are unveiling our brand new take on AF – the world’s first alcohol free beer bar, BrewDog AF Bar. A pilot location that embraces a new way of enjoying craft beer and spirits. Everything on offer inside the bar will be alcohol-free. The BrewDog AF Bar opens at 12pm on Monday 6th January.

For those outside of London they are also launching ‘Drink All You Can Jan’, with FREE refills of any BrewDog Alcohol-Free beer in every UK BrewDog Bar throughout January.

I would be interested in visiting once just to give it a try. Although, normally if I don't or someone I'm with doesn't want to drink alcohol I'm perfectly happy to go for a coffee instead. I've never previously considered buying an alcohol-free beer or spirit in a pub. It will be interesting to see if this concept works 🍻

What do you think of this?

I was the designated driver on a few occasions over Christmas and I had a few alcohol free lager and limes. They tasted okay, but were comparatively expensive. I ended up drinking tap water and ice and enjoyEd that more, if I’m honest!

I agree. If you want to encourage more people to drink alcohol free beer and spirits the price needs to be a lot lower. Unfortunately, going by one of the photos in the link the prices in this new bar look the same as regular alcohol.

ACR I visited an alcohol free bar in Dublin last year called the Virgin Mary. It was quite busy, but I think that was mainly due to people wanting to have a nosy (like myself!) as it was newly opened. They had some interesting cocktails but again, the prices were very expensive.

If I wasn’t drinking (which I did NYE I was designated driver) I wouldn’t chose to drink alcohol free beer honestly I’d just have a soft drink. However i wish them the best of luck and who knows it might take off!

It's something I would definitely try. I'm not a big coffee drinker so I tend to stick with a Becks Blue - a little bitter but fine if you don't deviate with anything sweet. As already mentioned here, they are expensive so until the process is simplified and the costs reduce I wouldn't be a regular.

Sounds like a different idea for a bar, the driver on the night out would love a place like that, are they gonna open them all over the UK?

This is more of a trial to see if there is enough demand to sustain this type of bar. If it's successful they could try something similar in some other cities. But, more likely they would just increase the amount of alcohol free beer & spirits in their regular bars 🍻

Who thought up this brilliant idea...a few of my friends dont drink at all and i would certainly join them in a BrewDog bar....or go on my own....its a differant kind of pub that has a great atmosphere....they have loads of games around to encourage social interaction...they allow your pets in and our BrewDog has really friendly staff who cant do enough for you. Alcohol free drink might be more expensive but the diet coke and a slice is not....Wonderful idea.
