What is Ryman?

Ryman is a UK-based high street stationery retail company founded in London by Henry J. Ryman in 1893 when he opened his first store as a book printer on Great Portland Street, which remains open to this day. He quickly change the focus of his business to selling stationery and the business was successfully owned and managed by the Ryman family for several generations.

In 1968, the company merged with the furniture retailer Habitat to form Conran Ryman. The following year they purchased the business of Lupton Morton, who mostly supplied furniture to offices and corporations but also made pieces by other designers, and in 1970 acquired the retail chain Straker-Bedser. In 1996, the Ryman Direct mail order catalogue was introduced, followed by a website in 1998. To build a UK national chain, in 2001 the group acquired the stationery retailer Partners with 86 stores, and in 2007 purchased 61 Stationery Box stores. In October 2016, Ryman purchased specialist stationery retailer London Graphics Centre, which was founded in 1973.

What are the delivery options for Ryman?

They offer Free Standard or Next Working Day courier delivery on all orders successfully processed over £40 (inc VAT) that are received by 6pm and delivered to mainland addresses in England, Wales and Scotland. Items marked as ‘Supplier Delivery’ are usually delivered next day but can take 1-3 working days.

Furniture or Supplier Orders

On Selected products, some furniture and storage items are delivered direct from our suppliers. These items can take a little longer to arrive, usually about 3 days, but sometimes up to 15 working days (additional delivery charges may apply to certain areas). For this type of order, their customer support team will email you with an order confirmation. In addition, for furniture orders, you will be contacted by the supplier approximately 48 hours prior to delivery. If a delivery date has been agreed but the delivery is not accepted on that date, a cancellation fee will apply.

How do I return an item to Ryman?

They offer a full refund when you return any unused items in a resalable condition and in their original packaging within 30 days. They aim to process your return within 72 hours of receipt. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take between 3-5 days for the money to appear in your bank account, and for PayPal refunds within 1 to 3 working days. They will refund our original delivery charge if a complete order is returned within the first 7 days after the invoice date. If the order is returned to them after 7 days from the original invoice date then unfortunately they will not be able to refund the original delivery charge.

• If any product you purchase is damaged or faulty upon receipt, they may offer an exchange or refund as appropriate. If within 1 year of purchase you return the product with your order confirmation and provided the damage is not due to customer negligence, they will provide either a replacement product or a full refund. Replacements are provided at no extra cost to you.
• For furniture products that are made to order, you have the right to cancel the order within 8 days of placing it by notifying them in writing. After that time, unfortunately they cannot offer a refund if you change your mind.
