What is Schuh?

Schuh, pronounced as “shoe”, is a UK-based footwear retailer with around 118 shops in the UK and Ireland. The company is mainly a stockist that sells over 80 brands which include Vans, Converse, Nike, UGC, Adidas as well as its own Shuch label. Their customers are mostly people on their late teens or early twenties. According to Schuh, they are now a shoe shop but fashion store that sold shoes.

The company opened its first shop in 1981 on Edinburgh’s North Bridge Arcade when its founder Sander Alexander observed that the place lack a fashionable footwear retailer outside London. Today, the Edinburgh store still has the original ambiance of the organised chaos that Schuh is famous for. During the 90s decade, Schuh adapted to the market turning from looks and styles to brands by introducing to their stores popular brands such as CAT, Kickers, Converse, Vans and Dr. Martens. In 1997, the company launched its own magazine that promotes footwear brands like never before.

When the millennium came, retailers took focus on launching websites and Schuh was quick to go online and launched a transactional website before almost all other retailers. Their website evolved through the years as their customers adapt more comfortably to online shopping. This development coincided with their store growth as well as Schuh stores can be found in more or less every major city in the UK and Ireland by the end of the decade.

Schuh is a German name that was basically known only in the UK and Ireland, but all of that changes when they launched their first German store in 2015.

What are the delivery options for Schuh?

Schuh use a secure courier service to deliver your orders 7 days a week and a signature is always needed on delivery.

Next Day Delivery – order by 10pm

£4.99, per additional item is free. Available on selected items for Next Working Day delivery within the UK on orders placed by 10pm Monday to Friday, 9pm Saturday and 7pm Sunday. Due to stock availability, not all items are available on Next Day delivery.

UK Standard Delivery

Free for orders over £20.00, for orders under £20.00 cost £3.00, Delivery is within 2-3 working days (excluding Bank Holidays) in the majority of cases but on rare occasions may take up to 5 working days.

UK Sunday Delivery

£4.99, per additional item is free. Available on selected items for Sunday delivery on orders placed before 9pm on Saturday. Due to stock availability, not all items are available on Sunday delivery and there are some remote areas that their couriers are unable to guarantee delivery on a Sunday, you will get a notification if this is the case.

Collect your order from any of Schu’s UK stores for free. Just use the Click & Collect service on the product page and you will be informed how you can collect your order.

Free over £75, per additional item is free. You can choose for your items to be delivered on the same day for just 90 minutes or you can choose a date and time that will best suit your schedule.

Delivery prices are quoted in checkout and are unique based on delivery location and time. Delivery is FREE for orders over £75 for a limited time only. Quotes are valid for 15 minutes from the time the request is submitted. Delivery availability is subject to courier coverage and local stock availability.

CollectPlus

Deliveries are free for orders over £4.99 or £2.99 for orders under £4.99, order by 4pm for delivery within 2 working days. Choose from over 6000 local convenience stores to have your order delivered to.

UPS Access Point

Deliveries are free for orders over £4.99 or £2.99 for orders under £4.99. Delivery to your chosen UPS Access Point within 2-3 working days (Monday-Friday), with locations open for collection 7 days a week.

International Zone A

£10.00, per additional item cost is £5.00. How do I return an item to Schuh?

Returns Policy Including Sale Items

You can return your items to Schuh together with its receipt and they will offer a refund or exchange on unused items returned within 365 days. Items purchased can only be returned to a Schuh store which accepts the currency used to purchase the items. Socks will not be accepted when removed from their original packaging due to hygiene reasons.

Returns via CollectPlus

You can drop off your unsuitable return at one of more than 6000 local shops in the UK which are open early til late, 7 days a week. Returns are FREE to customers who are registered 'myschuh' account holders, and only £2.50 for non-registered customers. Schuh will send you an email after your order is despatched with a CollectPlus returns label to print off and instructions on how to use it.

Returns to High Street Stores

Items purchased at UK sites can only be returned to a UK Schuch store. Make sure to bring with you the confirmation email, credit or debit card used in purchasing the order and your returns form.

Returns via Post

Fill in the Returns Form that was enclosed with your order or enclose a note detailing your name, address, contact number and reason for return. Package the shoes carefully in their original box & a secure outer wrapper where possible, and send them back clearly addressed to:

Returning “Imperfects” Items

Their imperfect items come with their 365 days return policy. Return it in an unused condition for a refund. As the stock in Schu’s ‘imperfects’ section are one-off pairs, they are unable to offer an exchange, change the size, colour or style of items ordered from there. Due to the nature of the product, they are unable to accept returns back in to their stores for these items and they should be returned back to their Head Office using CollectPlus or a delivery method of your choice to the address shown in the Returns via Post section above.
