Wickes was established in 1854 by Henry Dunn Wickes and his brother. They started out a modest operation in Michigan, USA as a local lumber business. The Wickes we know today started in the 1950s with the launching of a one-stop-shop for builders, offering them a complete range of construction products which are lower in prices than those in your local yards and merchants.
Wickes opened its first UK store in Manchester, UK in 1972, where it used a traditional DIY store model to sell to the trade, which made Wickes the first fixed-price builders’ merchant in the country.
The company also offers a variety of own-brand products and by the early 90s, they are almost a fully own-brand. Throughout the years, they’ve expanded their range to give their customers even better choices by including reliable and well-known brands such as Dulux, Bosch and Makita.
Currently, Wickes has over 230 stores in their 40 years of existence in the market. Since its first UK store launched in 1972, Wickes has improved and developed significantly, but the concept and spirit of their business remains the same to this day.

Products Which Are Not Required
Any unused products can be returned within 30 days of delivery in its original condition. This right to return does not apply to bespoke or made to measure products.
Cancellation Rights
For cancelling online order and to receive a full refund, just complete the cancellation form on their website or by e-mailing them at mailto:customerservices@wickes.co.uk at any time before the Product is dispatched or within 14 days starting on the day after delivery. Don’t forget to include your order number, post code and telephone number. Delivery charges will not be refunded if the cancellation notice is received outside of this time.
Refunds will be made as soon as possible on or before 14 days upon showing their receipt of evidence. Refund will be made to the payment card used to place the order
Free Returns to Store
You can return any product to your nearest Wickes store together with the proof of purchase. Please note that Wickes Kitchen & Bathroom stores are unable to accept returns for Products purchased online.
Returns via courier
Email them at mailto: customerservices@wickes.co.uk or telephone on 0330 123 4123 with your order number and details of the product to be returned if you want to arrange for it to be collected. Wickes will arrange for a collection of the product by their chosen carrier.
Faulty or Damaged Products
Faulty or damaged products will be exchanged or refunded provided you notified Wickes of the product’s fault within 30 days of it being delivered to you.
PRICE PROMISE
Basically this service means, if you find an equivalent product cheaper locally, Wickes will match it on price. You can use it before making a purchase or after making a purchase. The Duty Manager will decide if the Price Match Promise can be applied to your product of choice.
