McDonald's Axes Beloved Dessert & Fans Are Not Happy
Attention, fellow bargain hunters and fast food lovers! McDonald's has decided to axe their popular Galaxy Caramel Pie, starting today. This dessert, a unique blend of Galaxy-flavored caramel sauce wrapped in crispy chocolate pastry, priced at a wallet-friendly £1.99, has become a fan favorite since its introduction in late November.
The Galaxy Caramel Pie's departure is part of a larger menu overhaul by McDonald's, which sees the removal of several items including the Big and Cheesy burgers, Chicken Big Mac, Cheese Melt Dippers, and two McFlurry flavors. This change-up is typical for McDonald's, as they refresh their menu every six weeks, sometimes introducing new items or reviving old favorites.
Sayan Bose at The Sun reported on this development, capturing the disappointment of fans on social media. Tweets ranged from pleas to make the Galaxy Caramel Pie a permanent fixture to expressions of sheer delight from first-time tasters.
And the Galaxy Caramel Pie isn't the only item getting the axe. Here's the full list of items being struck from the menu:
- The Big & Cheesy £5.49 – (single) / £7.29 (meal)
- The Big & Cheesy with Bacon £6.29 – (single) / £8.09 (meal)
- Chicken Big Mac £4.79 – (single) / £6.59 (meal)
- Cheese Melt Dippers with Rich Tomato Dip – £2.59 (single) / £6.89 (sharebox)
- McDonald’s Chicken Combo £14.99
- Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry – £1.49 (mini) / £1.99 (regular)
- Galaxy Caramel McFlurry – £1.49 (mini) / £1.99 (regular)
- Galaxy Caramel Pie £1.99
To sum up, while we may miss the Galaxy Caramel Pie, it's essential to remember that the world of sweet treats is vast and full of budget-friendly options. As Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, wisely puts it, "In the world of fast food, change is constant. But for savvy shoppers, there's always a way to enjoy your favorites without overspending." Keep those eyes peeled for the next big thing in budget-friendly indulgence!
The McDonald’s Chicken Combo was brilliant, and was even just under £2 cheaper than buying everything individually! I know that it’s only £2, but that £2 would go a long way! Guess I’ll just have to purchase them individually, and have the Selects as my dinner, and then air-fry the nuggets the next day, for lunch, for around 3-5 minutes. Nice and crispy, and with some great dips!
