Hi my name is Emma but you might know me by my username of EmmaBeckz and I'm the Community Manager here at Latest Deals. I have worked at Latest Deals since June 2019 but previously to that, I worked at another deals website for 2 years gaining valuable experience and insight into the world of money saving and deals! My job title on my youngest son's birth certificate is deal hunter too!

I like to pride myself in never paying full price for anything and if I can't get actual money off with haggling or discount codes, I will use cashback and loyalty cards to get cashback or points on my purchase.

3 Reasons Why I'm A Deal Expert

1. My passion for finding the best prices and saving money was born out of necessity when I had 2 children under the age of 1 and one wage coming in, making what little money we had stretch further for 4 people. Whether that be weird and wonderful combination yellow sticker meals, buying Christmas presents in January and coats in June out of season and buying second hand items instead of new.
2. People come to me and ask me to find the best way of buying things. You might not get a discount on the latest product that you want but by using cashback sites, cashback or loyalty point credit cards and taking advantage of offers on your bank account for shopping at certain brands, you can at least get some money back or points to convert to buy other things to take the sting out of it.
3. I love saving people money, its not just a job for me but a way of life. I believe that it should be taught in schools so everyone knows how to find the best prices and get the best deals especially in these uncertain economic times.

• Kids: I love a bit of everything! I have a genuine interest in kids stuff as I have 4 of all ages and a grandchild too. So I look out for all things Disney, Hot Wheels, Fortnite and cool kids clothes too. Deal stacks on nappies, baby food and equipment at Boots have saved me a fortune over the years with my Parent Club Advantage card. I also post a lot of kids eat free or £1 deals and cheap days out for the family - the safari park is my families personal favourite.
• Home & Garden: I also love my home - its my haven and I work from there everyday so I have put a lot of time and effort into making it a cosy place to work and play and in the summer, you will find it hard to get me out of my hot tub! You will often find me with Dunelm & Argos tabs open looking for new cushions and I am a sucker for novelty lighting, mugs and cushions - currently on a buying ban but we won't talk about that....

• Sign up for email newsletters from all the places you like to shop as they quite often give money off codes for first time purchases with email sign ups and extra money off for loyal customers - Argos give you £5 off £40 when you first sign up and then a few others throughout the year which work on top of existing offers. Also, make sure you have an email address just for offers and freebies that you sign up for as some can be quite spammy and you don't want to wake up to 200 emails on your main email account.
• Always check cashback websites and check if you can earn cashback if you use a discount code as well - some you can't as it invalidates the cashback so work out if its cheaper to use the code or get the cashback. Also check your bank account app offers, my Halifax current account gives me offers to activate every 60 days so make sure you check and activate the offers.
• Delivery passes are also a brilliant way to save money. M and M Direct charge £5 delivery under £100 but their express delivery pass is only £9.99 a year. So if you buy more than twice a year its paid for itself and they have some great offers and sales so I can get my son a hoodie for his school trip for £5.99 and get it the next day. I also have a Sainsbury's delivery pass, this helps me budget and make a meal plan of what we are eating and saves me time going round the supermarket and getting side tracked by clothes and new food. It costs £80 for an anytime or £40 for a midweek (Tuesday - Thursday) one year pass. I get 2 deliveries a week as you only need to spend £40 so I have fresh food when we need it. 2 deliveries a week 52 weeks a year is 104 deliveries working out at under 77p each with the delivery pass but, I also go through a cashback site every time I order and get a minimum of 65p cashback per order and Nectar points and prices so it more or less works out I get the delivery pass free! Saving my time and fuel going to the shop, walking round, buying stuff I didn't need - winner!

Why I Love My Job

I love to help people and being the Community Manager, I can help people out by adding information to their posts like an extra money off code or free delivery or click and collect or subscribe and save pricing which people may not be immediately aware of. It's a great feeling when someone comments on your post that you have helped them and saved them money that they can now spend elsewhere and still gives me a buzz after all these years. We have our own little community with a chat section as well as freebies, vouchers, competitions and deals, you get to know people and tag them in deals you think might interest them or if they missed out last time I tell them its back on offer. I feel lucky that this is my job and I can't wait to save more people money.
