I see boots today announced some store closures and job loses along with John Lewis and Pret A Manger.
Who will be next to reduce stores and staff
My concern with boots was the pharmacy aspect but then again pharmacy2u could be the future for all.
The last time that I went to Boots, there was me and the staff in there, absolutely no one else. I find them quite expensive tbh. As for the pharmacy, I use the local one. I place my order online and they deliver a couple of days later.
We don't have a John Lewis or Pret nearby.
The boots near me (2 of them, 500m apart! Crazy ) are always quite busy. I only go if i need something i cant find elsewhere
I've been saying this about my local Boots for quite some time now, I live in a small town and rarely need to go in there but when I do it's usually empty and has needed updating for quite some years now. Wouldn't surprise me if this would be one on the to go list.
Boots as a company isn’t struggling - they are closing stores because their online sales are so much higher in comparison now and they have a lot of tiny stores that just don’t get used enough. Last Christmas, in one week in November, they were turning around a million pounds in 8 different stores.. (so £8,000,000 in one week and that’s without their other 2500 stores..
