What's the Best Day to Take Off for a Four-Day Workweek?

Ask a Question

If you could do a 4 day working week what day would you have off?

Monday for me, as love a few wines on a Sunday night!!

I work with people who do compressed hours, and most will choose Mondays, and others choose Fridays

I do a 4 day week but sadly don't get to choose which day I have off it changes all the time.

Personally I prefer not to have Monday or Fridays for me it's better to have Tues / Weds / Thurs off to break up the week a bit as the longer days seem quite tiring.

My husband worked Monday to Thursday slightly longer hours which gave him every Friday off, it was a standard 37.5 hour week.

When I went part time I took a Friday off as this suited me perfectly and had a nice long weekend.

It might be good to alternate the days off: Friday off one week Monday off the next. This would mean that every two weeks there'd be a four day weekend.

Monday for me to avoid that dreaded Monday feeling plus extends the weekend. I am retired now so every day is a day off!

We do 3 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 2 off and it makes a world of difference from doing the 5 on 2 off I’ve done for 20+ years.

Monday as I hate them! My partner's work tries to give them 3 days off a week but that means they end up working 15-hour days which he prefers not to do.

Fridays of course. Years ago my previous employer allowed us flexible working hours. Bliss.
