Alcohol-Free Guinness

Ask a Question

https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/oct/22/alcohol-free-guinness-set-to-hit-shelves-in-britain-and-ireland

I quite like alcohol, so I’ve never felt the need to get alcohol-free versions of wine, beer or spirits. Mind you, I’ve never liked the normal version of Guinness, and so I doubt I would like this alcohol-free version

Do you buy alcohol free drinks? Are you excited to try the alcohol-free Guinness?

My other half loves Guinness don't think he will be happy they've made it alcohol free, he would still drink it regardless though lol

My partner loves stout. I don’t think he would be impressed with an alcohol free version though. The alcohol free drinks can be okay if you are the designated driver on a night out.

I love Guinness but never feel the need to drink alcohol free things. If I don't want to drink alcohol I will have coffee or pop

I like Guinness, but won't be rushing out to get the alcohol-free version. If I don't want to or in a situation where I can't drink alcohol I'm happy just to have a coffee or something else. I've never felt the urge to have the alcohol-free version of wine, beer or spirits 🍸

I'm not excited about this at all to be honest. Guinness has quite a low alcohol content anyway and one of the best things about it is the warming, comforting feeling that comes from the little bit of alcohol in there. To be honest, I'm not sure that alcohol-free Guinness even qualifies as Guinness for me because it won't have that signature warming and comforting effect. However, others might benefit from it such as people who just want the taste or people who are trying to cut down on drinking.

I guess its nice to have more choice of non alcoholic drinks if you are out. but as Im not going out these days anyway I probably bother with af Guiness. I have been quite impressed with some of the new alcohol free 'Gin's out there at the moment. Might get a bottle in just in case we are ever allowed to socialise again...

Not alcohol free, but Guinness have started making a Nitro Cold Brew Coffee Beer. Unfortunately, it's currently only available in America, but they plan to roll it out to international markets within 12-18 months. This is something I'll be buying when I see it in stores or at my local.

Not sure if I’d like it, but I’d try it. I’ve had nitro coffee previously and for me it’s just a fad

Biggest scam at the moment imo is alcohol free gin. They're charging £20 a bottle for what is basically flavoured water.

And it's not as if it's nice. I had a free bottle from Amazon a while back and it ended up down the drain.

Yes they’re completely pointless. I tried a freebie back in Jan and it’s horrid - smells like gin but dies absolutely nothing

I think it’s great that alcohol free alternatives are being introduced, its more inclusive for those that like the taste but may not want or be able to drink alcohol 🙂

I guess there’s people who do drink it for the iron. Mind you, you can just have a supermalt or other malted drinks, as it’ll do the same thing
