Antibacterial Wipes - What Do You Use Them For?
Ask a Question
What do you use it for? I have started to use them recently and I even clean my toddler's shoes with them.
I use them regularly in work, as well as in my car and at home. Especially when I get home I clean my phone and keys, plus anything that I’ve taken to work.
We have used them more and more recently, my husband uses one when he puts stuff into the wheelie bin, I use them all the time in the downstairs loo to wipe down taps etc leftover from when you were allowed to have people in your home
I use them to clean most things that come in to our house. Unless it can be left in quarantine
GSM I've never used them .... for years it was because it was cheaper to use a cloth and cleaning agent .... now in later years it's because I became aware of how important it is to try to reduce environmental problems. I know it makes me sound .... I'm not sure what ... but it's truly what I believe. Even with Covid, I can't see how they are better than a cloth and cleanser/hot soapy water... and if it's bins etc then I wear rubber gloves (which I can no longer use for washing up as I've cut them somewhere with the bloomin cutlery or suchlike). Save yourself a fortune and save on resources and waste too.
BORDERJOE I agree with you totally. I saw on tv once that an hour after wiping the objects are covered in bacteria again. I don’t get why we use antibacterial wipes when Covid is a virus.
Grannyclock am so glad you agree ...I thought twice about posting and I re-read a few times but I do feel strongly about it....and I honestly can't see the point in spending my hard earned cash on wipes when I could spend it on fun stuff.
Used to think just like Border Joe above but iin recent years very lazy and started using them for lots of surfaces regularly touched and the toilet
For the toilet, I spray a wodge of loo paper with cleanser for the quick clean around ...then can safely flush it.... different for the proper clean but great for a daily wipe over and still cheap and environmentally better? ....and less to store too lol.
I think most of us are using these wipes these days. I even use them on my front door bell to wipe it down as I’m getting lots of deliveries.
Front door handles and i give my phone a wipe over as soon as I get home from work plus my handbag handles.
Dont use wipes as there not good for the environment, make do with kitchen roll and whatever bleach type spray i may be using
Or buy a bottle of Isopropanol ( Isopropyl Alcohol )only about £4 or £5 a litre and use it with kitchen towels ,far cheaper and indeed more effective against the virus ( 90% + alcohol) .
Golfforall I got a bottle of I. Alcohol to make my own hand sanitiser.... I hadn't thought of using it elsewhere...I must be slipping!!!!
BORDERJOE That's what I got my big bottle for (when hand sanitiser prices went through the roof last April ) .
Golfforall Hey it took me ages to get mine as everywhere had sold out and prices rocketed so I had to wait a couple of months....got it eventually .... now I need to remember I have it!
BORDERJOE Got mine before people realised that hand sanitiser was just alcohol and Aloe Vera Gel . 2 weeks later the price of those shot up as well . Getting back to normal now it seems .
Golfforall in the long run be cheaper to buy a stil lol we make all own hand santizers and even done spray hand santisers to from vodka runs lmao its so cheap
Golfforall I was one of those slow on the uptake ...so, good for you ... and something else I added to my mental 'well I never knew that' drawer!
I use them for my mobile phone in particular. I also use them to clean inside my car. Door handles and light switches too
Everything I can clean. Floor, surfaces things around me. Including appliances.
I’d even clean shoes too
