Is Anyone Going to Continue Homeschooling after the Lockdown Ends?

Ask a Question

Was wondering if anyone have enjoyed homeschooling during lockdown and want to continue when the kids are allowed to go back to school.

I have been homeschooling for some time but do feel like I need a break.

What do you think of this?

Maybe your children are better behaved than some! What's the legality of it? I suppose there should be some flexibility in the first few months at least in allowing people to continue if they are following the curriculum and doing things properly.

They are not always well behaved but they are not too bad (thank God). It is perfectly legal in this country to home school as long as the children receive a suitable education.

When your homeschooling you can work around you and you kids. You can create your own school timetable, you create your own school holidays aslong as theyre still getting nearly 200 days of education. When i was in school i think we had 180 days a year at school, dont know if its still the same now so if you feel like you need a break you can have 1.

Ann1984 I know 😁 I guess I didn't really make myself clear in the original post (it was quite late at night 🙈 ). My 3 youngest children (aged 9, 13 and 17 years) are homeschooled but I would like them to go to school (my husband doesn't want that though).

Homeschooling does have advantages but it also has disadvantages.

Zuharah school personnel is best place to interact with peers. Yes school has its downside with bullies but that is behind every door today. Your 13 year maybe is well aware of bullies as he/she would be in high school and your 17 year will be ready for employment if not in collage. Let your youngest enjoy time with friends trips etc. Am same nervous sending mine back but it will be September before I even think about it. I bet if you ask them they missing school mine are whice are 11 13 and 18 the youngest only goes 2 hrs so don't really understand and they all gone though bullies.

Ann1984 My 2 youngest have never been to school - they have always been homeschooled. My 17 year old went to school until year 5. My husband then decided that they should be homeschooled. My 22 year old went to school but did his GCSE's as home studies, then went to college for his A levels and then uni.
