Anyone Started a New Hobby in 2021?

Ask a Question

Now that lockdown and working from home is the "new normal" and people are spending more time at home, has anyone started a new hobby?

What do you think of this?

I think I'm focusing on my existing hobbies rather than starting new ones, spending more time on those.

Sounds good. Much better than getting all the gear for a new hobby and then deciding that the new hobby isn't really for you.

You're so right, angelik. Better to do a few things well than a lot of things badly. What's your number one hobby?

Yes, that seems to be a common one with some people almost getting a tan from the light in their fridge πŸ˜…

I have never had time for hobbies and that hasn't changed. Unless tidying the house counts as a hobby! I did some DIY jobs that needed done and I enjoy thinking about how to improve my house and eventually getting round to it! But I don't have any actual hobbies

I guess tidying the house can count as a hobby if it is something you enjoy doing. I wish I could enjoy it, but for me, it definitely feels like a chore.

Zuharah I just put on some music whilst I'm doing it. My son helps me to tidy up and I do enjoy looking at the room once it's all neat and tidy. I do it everyday so it doesn't build up and doesn't feel like a chore. I enjoy doing it but don't really consider it a hobby.

I started doing digital art on an iPad a few months ago rather than traditional drawing. It’s taking a while to get used to but I enjoy it

Sounds interesting. It is quite different from drawing on paper but one of the advantages is that you won't be wasting any paper πŸ‘

kfe202 I use the app called Procreate, you have to pay for it but it is really good so I would recommend it

bethgriff You're so kind. Thanks for the info. I've heard of Procreate. How long did it take you to find your way around the app and start drawing?

kfe202 it takes a week or two to get used to. I find YouTube videos very helpful for showing you what the app can do and how to use it best😊

That sounds great. I think the healthies fruits and vegetables are the ones you grow yourself, since they will be really fresh.
