Has Anyone Used onbuy.com Before?
Ask a Question
Was wondering if anyone had used onbuy.com/ before and could recommend whether to use it or not. I've seen some Disney Cars for my son and they are cheaper than on Amazon and just wondered if it is safe to buy from them. Any advice would be appreciated.
I have used them but check the individual seller reviews - they are all sellers on there some have no reviews so its a gamble or google the seller. I found lots of cars stuff on ebay last year for my son he wanted Miss Fritter the bus there was a shop Maqio Toys that had loads if any good and they do discounts if you buy a few
We also got these as stocking fillers come in a box - blind box rather than bags?!
I've only ordered once. It was a mario soft toy, the quality was terrible however they did refund the item without me needing to return so I would consider ordering from them again but would be more cautious of sellers.
Midnightflower I have found what I'm looking for on ebay but I will keep it in mind. I will check the sellers ratings first.
I bought two cameras that were very low priced from one of the sellers on Onbuy and receive some novelty whistles for one order and an umbrella for the other. It was a total scam. I dealt with onbuy customer service and it was horrific. They sided with the seller despite being an obvious scam. I put in claims with paypal and received refunds for both despite not sending either item back. The novelty whistles were worthless but the umbrella was really nice and a good freebie. I have also ordered from other sellers on onbuy and both of those went smoothly and were good sellers but Onbuy customer service is horrifically bad and amateur at best. I would still buy from the site without issues though but make sure I pay with paypal. I had to send images of the product I ordered and the products I received with all the matching documentation that took perhaps 20 minutes. I almost threw out the novelty plastic whistles without thinking but then realised it could have been a scam seller sending something different and then pretending the item I received was the correct item. I've had that from Chinese sellers before where they send a low value item instead.
In fact today I received some aluminium handlebars from a Amazon marketplace seller when I ordered carbon fibre handlebars and they were clearly shown as carbon fibre in the image and the description. Amazon have just refunded me rather than me having to return the item.
I should add this is a very rare occurance and I also received two other items from the same seller and they were exactly as described.
Anyway I would say onbuy are fine to buy from using paypal and look at the sellers reputation rather than onbuy itself. If you do have issues with a purchase I would pretty much ignore onbuy's own buyer protection its not fit for purpose and go straight to paypal.
BonzoBanana that's really good advice. I will look at the sellers reviews and if I order will use PayPal. Thanks
BonzoBanana I did join them earlier this year, but I have never ordered anything from any of the sellers advertised. I will stick to Amazon or going to brick and mortar shops instead.
