April Fools
Ask a Question
Does anyone else dread 1 April when you read or listen to every news article on the TV, Internet and radio with a pinch of salt?
I know, I know, it’s fun for the kids etc but for adults and with everything we’ve had to endure for the past 12 months, the last thing I want to be doing is trying to distinguish fake news from the real thing.
Anyone else feel the same?
Years ago, it used to be fun trying to work out which stories were the April Fools ones, and they came up with some really good ones. These days it's pretty easy to spot the fake April Fools news stories as they tend to be a bit obvious.
angelik I know but it can get to be a drag. I might just not watch or listen to the news today at all.
Its a bit of fun , any responsible media outlet will not and has never constructed one that could be in anyway deemed offensive or inappropriate .
Probably a different matter if you are foolish enough to get your news from "Social Media " as sadly too many do .
Golfforall true, it’s crazy the volume of fake news out there on any given day
There have been a few over the years and no I won't be watching any news today although given the covid situation I think everyday is April fools day (or possibly groundhog day).
Remember this?
tumblespots this is so good! I had never heard of this before, great watch. Something so fun and a story to think back and laugh about
HappyTravels Thanks dear for this topic my little son came down start crying mum I am having bad pain in my tommy I get scared when I picked phone to call 111 he start laughing I been fooled early morning.nice to see you’re create topic I hope you’re fine looking forward for your deals too
Jasmine111 hope that was only prank you got yesterday. It’s a bit more complicated than I thought trying to post new deals. I’m not great at technology so it’s a steep learning curve for me. I admire all you regular posters even more now!
HappyTravels O dear I didn’t know you’re posted deals I am going to check your deals I would love to see what you’re posted
I wouldn't say that I dread it but I do find it to be somewhat overrtated. In all fairness, some of the pranks that people pull are genuinely clever and amusing, but most of the time they are cheesy and come across as being far too obvious.
Still, it doesn't hurt to have a laugh every now and then. At any time of the year though, not just 1st of April.
I am an April Fool as it's my Birthday, I don't recall seeing any hoaxes on the News. The last ones I remember is was the Spaghetti trees referred to above & the Flying Penguins
I went round putting frozen chips on neighbours car windscreens then knocking on their doors saying you have a chip on your windscreen! It was hilarious and it was lovely to see everyone laugh and smile. I'm 55 and love April fool's day always have!
