Back to the Future Super-Fan Fulfils Lifelong Dream by Buying His Own DeLorean

In the News

I saw this article and thought how ironic it was

I entered a sun newspaper competition over 30 years ago to win the original car from the film, it was not my usual rag but i really wanted to win it so i bought it

You had to collect vouchers all week and send them in

I was convinced i would win it , but alas didn't

But here is someone who manged to buy one from the US

I hope it lasts , they were not that reliable, but just to have one is iconic

When I go out for a long walk there's a house I pass where a guy there restores cars. Last year he had a DeLorean car outside. It was lovely to see the car up close. Image

I went to a classic car show a couple of years back, it was a large one with over 600 rare and vintage cars.

There were some real beauties there, but the car attracting the biggest crowd was a DeLorean.

I watched a documentary recently about John DeLorean and what he did to get it manufactured in Ireland , very interesting the way he lied and manipulated the governments , especially the UK , costing the taxpayers millions

Also he was known as a ladies man who hobnobbed with the rich and famous

I think it's great that he managed to achieve a lifelong dream, and I would imagine it will be very well looked after and only taken out on special occasions, so reliability shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Cool looking car 😎

Would be within my luck to win the competition. I can't drive and if I could I'd probably forget where I parked the thing anyway. Taxi firms say sometimes "your taxi is an xyc". I don't know a car from a carton lol. To think I had a P/T job as a traffic enumerator once!

You never know M, you might be able to afford a tesla if and when the prices drop, they drive themselves , but they are not quite there yet Image

I only hope he’ll be able to get in out after all those years of waiting. A friend bought a sports car (he’s in his 70s) and struggles getting in so you can image what it’s like to get out.

Yes M, someone doesnt like the truth

Its getting a bit ridiculous M, i think they have a new moderator that is being over zealous

It seems they are taking the ban on religious and political chat a bit far, you only have to mention the word government or church and it is removed , even if the article is not about politicals or about religion

I even just had one of my competitions rejected and i had to appeal and alter it 8 times before it was accepted, because the word condiment was in the title , referring to spices !!!

My problem is i wont let things go if i feel i in the right, but despite asking which moderator is causing havoc with my posts i have not got an answer

It seems LD moderation can operate incognito with just an automated response as an answer and we have to stay silent and accept it , watch this get removed next

Rant over 🤐

B, no this is a chat page we are on

If this was happening to you, would you be happy ?

When you complain in an e mail you are ignored

Not what i would call the best response

Or maybe you guys are so desperate for 10p a day that you think this is a job, or something like that.
