What do you think of this?

I agree with you the number of people saying they had ordered a piece of jewelry similar to what you'd expect to find in a Christmas cracker because it was FREE astounded me. For less than the £8.99 P&P they could have bought a full box of Christmas crackers.

suzymc2308 Some of the freebies on this site are nothing but a joke and some people are doing others a favour by pointing out scams that might not be too obvious to the gullible.

One I noticed yesterday was a free "coin" not only not a coin (a coin is made with authority as money) but requiring £2.50 p&p to have the virtually worthless bit of metal sent to anyone gullible enough to fall for it.

davidstockport yes I get that, but I’m talking freebies like a £80 speaker, £30 electric pump, £40 steamer and so on, I don’t mean freebies as in tat

suzymc2308 I have not personally seen anything such as, speakers, electric pumps, or steamers in Freebies - but if they have been it's sad that they're bundled with supposed freebies where the cost of p&p makes those offering them a massive profit. Worst I saw was a necklace (supposedly worth £268) that was Free but with a p&p charge of £8.99

similar necklaces (complete with ear rings) can be found on Ebay for 99p which includes p&p from China. The sad part is some people fall for theses scams, and those who do so don't wish to appear foolish by admitting they were scammed.

davidstockport yes I get that. The ‘freebies’ I’m talking about are actually glitches. You haven’t seen any because they are removed once the glitch is over and the price is fixed so usually within 5 minute. I’ve just been lucky to see them soon as they are posted. I would never go for cheap tat with ridiculous postage costs

darrenpearce36 I noticed that the eBay link from the website had been removed, and for some reason the actual website takes me straight to etsy now.. 🤔

LittleLisaMarie That's because they know they have been rumbled. They now have everyone's card details including security codes. I cannot believe that Latest deals are ignoring what is a potential disaster for their members. Surely they have a moral responsibility to make as post advising everyone to block their cards

I'm glad I've got common sense when it comes to ordering stuff online. ALWAYS check for reviews! Trustpilot etc.. and use PayPal!!

suzymc2308 yes but my point is that the only reason that you know is because you are reading this thread. So you are going to be super vigilant with your bank account and you've blocked your card. The other people are oblivious to this and are not going to look at their bank accounts and could be losing money now even as we type this

LittleLisaMarie that was around 10pm last night. So hopefully the website was shut down last night.

Hopefully no more people could buy afterwards.

LittleLisaMarie Well atleast It’s gone now & people have been able to cancel their cards before they take anything.

I fell for it a long time ago, they Tried to take £165 out of my account about 3 months later. But I had already cancelled my card.

LeanneWard yep, that's the main thing.. I don't order anything online unless i can pay by PayPal (unless it's a reputable company of course lol) but it's unbelievable how many people are soooo gullible these days 😔 you see it all the time on here x

I agree, unless it’s PayPal from now on it’s a no go for me, just keep eye on your account coz cancelling card doesn’t stop payments being taken unfortunately, it helps but won’t always stop it

OMG I feel so stupid! Normally always on the ball with things like this. I spoke with my bank when I cancelled mine and they advised they can’t take anything as they will be issuing a new card with a different expiry and security code on the back. Hope it all works out ok for everyone and thanks all for your advise 👍

NatalieFlo71437 yes you will be protected, even if they take from anyone’s bank it will be covered for them and should be refunded once the banks fraud team investigate it

Regretted ordering and cancelled my card. It was too good to be true. Postage cost wasn’t enough to cover delivery.
