Bath Bombs Yes or No?

Ask a Question

I've never been a one for Bath bombs I have never liked the idea of them, colourants, pieces of things etc floating in the bath with me. Am I the only one? Or has anyone found any with any benefits at all or are they just novelty?

I agree with you. Give me some nice smelling bath oil or just old fashioned bubble bath.

Just use Epsom salts for the benefits at a fraction of the cost ( I buy them by the 5kg bag ) . If you want a nice smell just chuck in a few drops of essential oils .

Lauren274 Only problem I find is that they tend to leave your fingers and toes very dry after a longish soak . Moisturiser / aftersun is recommended after a long bath .

Golfforall I use Epsom salts too, normally when they’re on offer at Holland and Barrett but I might buy this bulk bag if I can find space for it!

Depends for me. I prefer Lush Bath Bombs and they leave my skin feeling healthy and clean afterwards. Ive tried cheaper ones and theyve dried the hell out of my skin

chelseaturpin yes lush I forgot about those, a bit more pricey but worth paying more for quality sometimes, I hate the ones with bits, maybe there is a decent one out there which I may enjoy one day πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆβ€οΈ

I think if you get ones that are for a specific purpose they can be great, but I also dislike having things floating around the bath. I agree with Golfforall - Epsom salts are cheaper and work well.

I’ve seen Westlab scented Epsom salts in Home Bargains, Savers, and a few other places for Β£2.99/kg if scent is especially important to you and you want something ready-made, but you can get plain Epsom salts for less and scent it yourself.

I did enjoy bath bombs - but we no longer have a bath - just a shower so sadly is a luxury we have to do without now. That said I have no regrets spending out the money to get a decent shower installed last year.

didbygraham tbh I honestly prefer a shower! I feel much cleaner and love exfoliating without the grains being in the bottom of the bath tub, I hardly ever bath for washing purposes but more to relax with essential oil before bed, but random thought popped into my head am I the only one that hates Bath bombs πŸ˜‚

Lauren274 TBH I think epsom salts are more for muscular therapy than relaxation . Radox is my choice for a relaxing bath , or sometimes a mixture of Radox and Epsoms 😊. Then again as a bloke I'm more interested in it soothing my aching muscles than what it smells like 😏.

Lauren274 yes - I do prefer a shower any day but I do miss the occasional long soak in a hot bath - radox to help relax and sooth aching muscles, lights out, lit candles lit, music on - and a glass or two of wine. The perfect evening in!

Golfforall Epsom salts are great for muscle therapy. Plus I definitely agree with the radox feel they actually do help you relax, and smell great too!

To be honest, I have never noticed much benefit from bath bombs and I do love a bath.

But my friend got me a shower bomb last Christmas. You set it in the tray and the stream causes it to melt. Not much health benefit, but the smell was incredible, like being at a spa! A lovely treat!

Some bath bombs are great and I do enjoy them, but can’t stand those with dried bits and oils.I have to wash πŸ›€ and wash myself again to remove all that grease and nasty dry bits.

beccatavender yes I think that can be one of the issues, is the residue they can leave behind or when your actually in the bath, I hate the grainy bits in bottom of the tub. And I hate cleaning at the best of times πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆβ€οΈ

I used to like them, not so much these days. Tho I do indulge in the odd couple from LUSH, particularly in the colder months. I prefer bubble bath & oils tho.
